    full name: lacey rayne carey.
nicknames: lacey, lace or lacey rayne.
    gender: female.
    age: sixteen.
    ailment: depression.
Although it could be seen as commonplace, she finds her name to her liking. It rolls nicely off the tongue. Lacey was a name given to her by her father, after her grandmother on his side. Rayne was suggested by her mother, who had an unusual liking for eccentric names. Not many people have devised a nickname for Lacey, though, being a shorter name, so most people call her as such. Her old friends from her hometown used to call her Lace, however, and some people enjoy combining her first and middle. Though its never been her favorite alias, she does agree that Lacey Rayne has an essence of grace to it. Nobody's really called her that in forever, though.

Lacey is a youthful sixteen years old, her birthday falling on December eleventh. She is a Sagittarius, the sign of the Archer. Some could say it suits her very well, others would completely disagree. She's said flat out that she's too pessimistic. Lacey Rayne has been coping with depression since childhood. Her father was a man in armed forces. When she was eleven years old, he was deployed for a total of sixteen months before they heard of his falling. A month and a half later, she was diagnosed with clinical depression. Although having to say goodbye to her best friends in her hometown didn't exactly help, the new support given in Hazel Park did. Lacey Rayne has lived here ever since.

    height: five feet, two inches.
    weight: one hundred pounds.
body type: compact, short, slim, lithe.
    hair: wavy, sandy brown.
    eyes: hazel.
Throughout her teenage years, Lacey Rayne has been given almost every stereotype. Hot, beautiful, ugly, fake; she's heard them all, but never really took any to heart. Of course the names affected her, one way or another, but she tried to not dwell on them. Regardless, one could indeed think that Lacey Rayne was quite pretty. Her face is a gentle oval shape, accented with a slender nose and rather prominent cheekbones. Her lips are a pale pink, plump and soft. Her wavy hair cascades (often sloppily) down her shoulders and onto her chest, colored with dusty hues of brown and sand. Lace's eyes tend to "complete" her look - though they're technically hazel, their most common hue is a deep chocolate brown. It is in fact so dark, that people have a hard time telling the iris from the pupil. In the glint of sunlight, colors like goldenrod shine where they were once hiding in the deep seas of her eyes.

Lacey Rayne is a very small girl, one of tiny stature - she rises to only five feet and two inches, weighing approximately one hundred pounds. She carries very little muscle on her arms or legs, much less around her abdomen, easily (and to her dismay) making her rather weak. She fears that her lack of strength makes her an easy target for predators, so she simply avoids shady characters. She looks almost willowy, being mere "skin and bones". It bothers her a little, how skinny she is, but its not the furthermost issue on her mind - she'll muscle up eventually.

ι'м delvιng deeper.
likes: books, video games, sleeping in.
    dislikes: storms, school, cheerios.
fears: urban legends of every kind.
    skills: she's a decent driver.
Quiet. Shy. Solemn. All of the words could well describe Lacey Rayne. She's an observer, someone who would rather look from afar and learn without experience. She looks at others and, as strange as it feels to know this, she analyzes them. She inspects the situation and sees it from all sides and she finds what could've been the solution, but she has never tried to give that advice. If they wanted her opinion, they would've asked for it. She doesn't care for confrontation, which to her is another reason to keep her advice to herself. What if those people disagree with her, or think she's stuck-up? She'd hate to have to defend herself for such a reason, especially given that she could've just as easily avoided it.

Lacey is an inside person, someone who would rather coop up and play video games and read all day than go out and socialize. Of course, she has friends, who she loves dearly, but she has a strange way of thinking. The weekdays are her social time, when she enjoys talking and spending time with others. The weekends, though, she reserves for herself. Those are her days to wind down, relax, finish a book, fight a boss battle, reblog a few kittens, and sleep until twelve o'clock. She's not totally opposed to weekend plans, but if she has a choice between going out to lunch or getting take-out, she'd rather pick the latter.

She's also quite the listener. Lacey, with wisdom far beyond her years, is actually very good at giving advice, even if she can't really take it herself. As secluded as she may seem, she actually loves it when someone asks about her day; she loves to tell and to hear about how someone else's day went, too. She won't show it, though. If someone approaches her and asks, "How are you?" She'll offer a smile and say "I'm okay," but inside she's got fuzzies.

Some have called Lace's quiet demeanor a shell. Once you crack open that shell, you see someone who has come a long way from their past. Surely you see that she had been broken before, in one way or another. Lacey Rayne doesn't trust too easily, with it taking quite some time for someone to gain her absolute trust. She may seem "popular" because of how many people she knows, but she's very selective about who she gets close to, who she deems her true friends. If you're chosen, you're lucky; not many are. Once someone becomes her friend, though, its as though they'd been friends forever. She's light-hearted - not carefree, but light-hearted. She smiles, she giggles. She's not the loud and obnoxious, happy-go-lucky BFF that some others are, however - she's very kind, sweet and caring. Even then, she has her moments of selfishness, of doubts. Like when she wishes she could live normally.
