When All Is Lost [Post-Apocalyptic World RP]

Maddie sucked in a breath and glanced from Kaylin to Zander. She ran a hand through her hair and shook her head, looking away. "I'll get rid of him. Hide... Somewhere." She furrowed her brows and waved her hand vaguely in the other direction. "Don't get caught." She glanced at her friend once more before turning away.

Standing up straight, she walked out of their rather sad hiding place and towards where the guard was standing. She leaned forward, peering out from behind a tree. "Hello." She greeted, stepping out into the open. "Is there a problem?"

[-Kaylin-]

Kaylin nodded, glancing at Maddie. She then darted behind a nearby bush. She poked her head out from behind, trying to see what was going on, or who the guard was atleast.

Alexander

Alex looked at the younger girl, an amused smile already on his face. "You tell me." He said, looking around to see if there were anyone else was around. "What are you doing out here, alone?" Alex looked back at her.

[Missing-One]

Maddie smiled back, deciding it would be better to be on the guard's good side. "I was just heading back, actually." She laughed, running her fingers through her hair. "I was just kinda wandering, and found myself here." She shrugged, glancing around the trees. "I zone out a lot, see." She tapped her index finger against her temple. "Too many thoughts in here to pay much attention, I guess." It was a lie, but the words rolled off her tongue like it might actually be the truth- Her voice was bubbly and her grin seemed genuine. "I'll be more careful next time, sir. Sorry to have troubled you."

Kaylin peered around the bush, slowly standing up. As she turned around to run, she tripped over a tree root. Feeling a puff of dry dirt hit her in the face she sighed. Moaning, she looked up and turned so that she was laying on her back, looking at Maddie with a small smile on her face.

[Missing-One]

Maddie turned away from the guard when she heard the thud from behind her. She searched around for the source, eyeing the treetops, assuming that some sort of animal had just landed. Slowly, her focus drifted downwards and her smile fades. Eyes on Kaylin, her lips turned down in a scowl. Her hand went up to her forehead, shaking her head and muttering.

"Kaylin, do you even understand the meaning of 'hiding'?" She muttered under her breath, shaking her head disappointingly. Her fingers combed through her hair, holding onto a fistful of strands as she turned around to face Alexander once more. By now, her facade was obviously fake, there was no point in acting the air-head role any longer.

"Sorry." Maddie mumbled through clenched teeth, crossing her arms and shaking her head still. She sent glares over her shoulder, looking at Kaylin with a deep frown.

Kaylin shrugged, stood up, brushing the dirt from her. She looked at the guard, she smirked and sighed. Turning to Maddie wondering what they should do now. "I'm sorry okay. My legs were starting to hurt from crouching." She muttered, looking at her feet.

Zander was still hidden, his back pressed against the bark of the tree. He turned his head, peeking out a tiny bit... Should he come out now? He ran a hand through his hair, before pulling a bit further back, brown leather jacket hiding him well.
