In hopes of constructing some sort of order in what seems to be a lost cause, small, optimistic civilizations have been formed, such as in former-Michigan. Here, prideful former citizens of The United States have banded together and managed to find hope in a what seemed to be a hopeless place, though with this achievement of civilization came a group of power.
Made up of only rich, the members of the government live in luxury among the barren lands. More dictators than peacekeepers, they have given themselves amazing power over everything they deemed below them on the ranks. Whether it be sending anyone they deemed fit to fight to war, holding back the necessities, and becoming the bane of many's existence, the government has quickly become an icon of evil in the people's eyes.
Struggling to hold onto what they fought to gain, it's an everlasting fight between plebeian and wealthy. In the town of Parthia, the fight remains strong.
--
The town of Parthia is one of the greater towns left in this post-apocalyptic world. Located strategically near one of 5 great lakes(Formerly known as Lake Superior), citizens are rarely without fish and fresh water. This makes for jobs as well, such as fishermen and hunters. Parthia also has need for many other ranks, such as doctors, guards, farmers, raiders, hunters and the most respected of them all, The Council.
The Council is an elected group of men and woman who help run things within the town without having to involve the instigating government. They hold meetings at least once a week to make decisions. To join The Council, you must be accepted by the members as well be elected by the townspeople.
Fishermen are usually a group of 5 to 6 men who sail out on boats to fish for their families and to sell in the market place. Fishermen also double as hunters, though not all hunters are fishermen.
Huntersleave in groups of 10 people. They go off and hunt the nearby prey. Hunters primarily use hunting knifes, though bow and arrows and the occasional illegal gun have been uses in the past. Hunters are silent and ammunition is precious. They must have great speed, otherwise they'll for sure be trampled by a moose or eaten by wolves. Again, the fishermen help as hunters, but not all hunters fish.
Farmers plant, water, harvest, and raise animals such as pigs and cows. They plant crops and tend to the fields. They are well respected among the people of Parthia, as it is very hard labor.
The doctors in Parthia have very little equipment, and have resorted to using herbs and home remedies. They are also highly respected, for they basically hold the lives of the townspeople in the palms of their hands. They also rely on farmers to keep their stock of herbs plentiful.
The raiders go off into other towns, usually abandoned and take back what they can. Clothes, medicine, weapons- Stuff like that. A raider's job is quite dangerous. They live very short lives, and are almost never seen unless selling goods or traveling away on another mission.
Guards walk the perimeter of the village-town, watching for trouble. Gaurds also are the village-towns handy-men, they repair fences and doors.
The government lives far away from Parthia in a well-kept and luxurious town. They rarely communicate with the people of Parthia, unless giving unfair orders, making decisions or collecting people to send to the battlefields.

Roleplay Rules
No one liners
Please dont post just for the sake of it. Not each post has to be a page long, but posting "Sally stood in town." is useless to the plot and unneeded. Quality over quantity.
This is not a romance rp.
Yes, it does have romance, but that it is not the key point. Flirting and having crushes is fine, but try to be creative with plots and storylines.
Try to even out the girls and boys.
It gets annoying if there are 5 guys and 16 girls. If you see there is a significant difference between genders, then be a good person and help even it out.
No perfect amazing characters.
If someone pushes you over, you do not back flip two times and land on your feet ten feet away on a tree stump. You land backwards on your butt or forward on your face. Also, no power-playing. Control your character and only your character. This is simple roleplay etiquette, and if you have to be reminded of this on more than one occasion we'll ask you to leave.
If you don't think you'll come back, please don't join.
It really sucks when you're character is interacting with someone, and you never get a reply. You'll get one reminder, asking you if you're still interested in the roleplay. It's fine if you say no; No one's feelings will be hurt. But, it's also nice to be notified that you'll be leaving instead of disappearing without a trace. If no reply is given, or as I said before, you say you're no longer interested, your characters will be removed from the list and the roleplay will go on as if they were never there unless said otherwise.
