You don't know what to say. How to react. From the minute your name was called from that bowl, you knew your life would never be the same. You start blanking, the expression on your face unreadable. You don't feel anything except for regret for yourself, especially knowing that this is the Quarter-Quell and during the war between District 13 and the capitol. There have been rumors that they will be specifically cruel. You aren't supposed to know about the war, but everyone knows about Katniss Everdeen. You are escorted up the steps by the peace-keepers, your partner already chosen/being chosen. When you are both up on the stage, your capitol representative announces the event for the Quarter Quell, and a chill goes down your spine when you hear the hint: It has something to do with water. You can't help thinking when you shake hands: 'Why couldn't I had never been born?'

Personality: Star is very country-ish, though does know style trends. She's not too girly, and knows what it's like to go hungry. Though she lives in district 1, most of everyone's money has to go toward buying or getting the machines to make the items for the capitol, so almost everyone is very poor and can't afford buying much food. Star likes to play the all-I-know-how-to-do is fight game, when really she spends most of her summer days coming up with different ways to catch and gather food with a spear, sword, knife, etc.

Looks: Bleached-blonde, wavy hair with crystal blue eyes. She is muscular and has fair skin.

Family: She has a little, innocent, 5 year old brother, and an older brother who is already married and moved to a far part of district 1. She pretends to not have a heart, but she likes to help people when he thinks they deserve it. All together she is not your average career, though their ways have grown on her.

Hey, I'm Luna Sanders. For starters I live in district twelve and I'm 17 years young. I have a younger brother named Lupus, and we live on the streets. It's hard getting by but I can hunt like the few people can in my district. I've always been good with a bow but I'm not cocky. I recommend staying away from my bad side though. I have trust issues and will snap you like a twig.

Okay, so I guess your asking me what I can do for these games right? Well, I can hunt with a bow and arrow. I taught myself when I was 13 so I could feed Lupus and I. I'm also alright when I'm wielding a knife.Self protection you know? I'm strong I guess but I'm not fast or very big. I'm pretty short so I can't run long distance. I can't make snares either. So I just might have a chance in the hunger games.

Oh... that's pretty though. Okay so when I was twelve both my parents disappeared. No one knows what happened to them. Some people tried to take Lupus and I to and orphanage but I just ran off to a friends house, I lived on my own since then. For a year, I stole food from the markets until i got caught. We almost went hungry until I learned to hunt. I 'm really glad I learned when I could.

I don't know if you're blind or what but I guess I'll tell you anyway. I have dirty blond hair and crystal blue eyes. I'm very skinny, it's really unhealthy but there's nothing I can do about it. I wish I could gain some weight and not look like a tooth pick. I always leave my hair down and a small part covering my face. I have good upper body strength from pulling back the bow string and hauling all the game I collect from a days worth of hunting. I'm pretty pale and usually wear hunters green tank tops and skinny jeans with tall lace up boots. In the winter I'll wear a light winter jacket, so I 'm really cold then but it's better than nothing, right?

Well, I'm not that good at making friends. I'm not nice, and pretty cold and mean. I'm just not good with people, I don't have one of those things inside your head that tells you what not to say. I get frustrated and aggravated easily but never sad. I never cry, and I find it really weird.

Well, my names Andrew, I'm 16, from district four, and I honestly don't know what to think about these games. I'm pretty much ignored by my family so I don't think anyone would care if I was gone. I feel useless. And don't tell me I have a chance of winning, we all no I don't have the slight chance at winning. I've always been sweet to everyone but I guess that wasn't enough.

We've been over this haven't we? I can't do anything. People say I'm strong and a good fisher but that might not help me. I can't work any weapons because my parents didn't put me in that training academy. So yeah, another reason to believe I'll loose.

Well, when I was ten, my father died of some sickness. After that, my mother just kind of ignored me and took care of my baby sister Violetia. That little girl is probably the only one who ever actually cared about me. I taught myself how to fish and make nets to feed my family.

I have brown hair, unless you haven't noticed. It's kind of long but I try to cut it sometimes. I have brown eyes, nothing special, and a pretty good tan from being outside a lot. I'm not very strong, I'm kind of scrawny but alright. I'm not tall but not short, I'm about 5'7. For the most part, I'm usually wearing a white t-shirt (or no shirt if it's too hot) and shorts.

I try to be really sweet to anyone I meet. It's kind of a natural thing. But if you get on my bad side I won't be so sweet. I'm pretty helpful, so I'm hoping for an alliance with someone. I just want to have something besides myself to protect before I die.

I swallowed. I hadn't volunteered like Cache, District 1s other tribute, but I was prepared enough I guess. I was sitting on the couch in the small room in our justice building when my little brother burst through the door. He ran and gave me a hug, and my heart melted. "You can win I know you can please try you have to we don't have much time, mother said but please come home!" He mushed his words together, not to mention they were muffled from being said into my stomach. I bent down and said, "Of course I'll try, Tie." I tugged on his clip-on tie and saw tears in his eyes. Mine were dry, as I was only trying to have the courage that I could win. I'd trained in a special academy until now, I'm definitely not hopeless.

I took and deep breath and sat on a small couch in the justice building, waiting for a peacekeeper to sweep me away. My brother Lupus burst through the door and hugged me tight. He was only 13 and we had no parents. "Win, okay?" He mumbled quietly after a moment of silence. I closed my eyes lightly and rested my chin on his head. "I'll try, I can hunt you know." I sighed, staying strong for him. He nodded slightly and looked up at me, eyes glared like he was about to cry. "You need to try and find a job okay?" He nodded and hugged me tight until a peacekeeper burst in and ripped him away from me.

I stared down at my hands silently, not saying a word. No one came in to say goodbye, no one. Violetia was too young to go anywhere and my mother didn't even bother to come to the reaping. I sighed softly and leaned back in my chair, a peacekeeper came in and told me that it was time to go and hauled me off to the train.

My mind was working furiously, most of it torture. I was remembering all the past games, and wondering about our hint for the Quarter Quell. 'Water....' The words were floating in front of my eyes when I closed them. 'Water...Arena....' I kept pondering it when my mom burst through the door in my room sobbing and bawling. "Mom, it's okay. Please stop." I said, my own voice about to shake. "Mom, stop." I said more forcefully, but she was just crying into my shoulder. It was like for a couple minutes until I was about to start too. "Mom, you have to stop! I know I'm not gonna be there anymore, but you go crying on my grave! That won't help anything!!" I was yelling now, and she just barely heard my last words when she was dragged out.

I sat at the lunch table, on the train. Cache was eating like crazy but I was only picking. "Star, you have to eat something." I heard my mentor say. But I just looked at him. My eyes weren't sad and neither was my face, but I was so deep in thought that I jumped when he said the words. "Sorry. Just thinking." I said. "Careers fight, not think." Cache cast me a sideways glance and I rolled my eyes.
