Playing was her escape. So really, nothing exsisted right there and then except or the ringing sound of her singing cello. But the paradise was soon shattered by her old friend, Noah. The cello made a tiny squeak of pain and Ever flinched in surprise. Looking up, her honey-brown eyes met his and she smiled softly. "Thanks. I try my best.." She replied softly, looking down at her cello and smiling gently.

Noah smiled. "Sorry I didn't mean to startle you...." He trailed off. "Haven't seen you all summer, how have you been?" He asked her, meeting her stunning gaze. His heart was beating in his chest but his calm smile didn't show it. Why do I suddenly feel like this around her? He asked himself, hiding his nervousness was harder than he had thought.

Blushing a little, she smiled back at him, beginning to pack up her cello. "Oh, I've been alright." And I missed you, she wanted to add, but she kept it to herself and her smile. Glancing at Noah again, her hazel eyes ran across his handsome features. He had really gotten more attractive.. Her face turned even brighter, and she looked away, continuing to pack up.

"Well great!" Noah said, a grin spreading easily across his features. "There is still a few days of summer left! Why don't we catch up on lunch tomorrow. It'll be on me!" He desperately hoped she would say yes but his eyes shone with confidence and he wouldn't let her see his nervousness.

Smiling, she nodded, placing the case upright and standing, looking up at him with sparkling golden eyes. 'It sounds wonderful. I'd very much like that.' She replied calmly, although her heart raced within her small, fragile chest.

"Great!" Noah replied, meeting her stunning golden gaze again. "Then I'll meet ya at the cafe at around noon? It was great to get to see you again and you sound fantastic on the cello!" He flashed her one of his charming grins and hugged her. "See ya tomorrow!" and with that he left, walking up the quickly darkening streets to his house.

Smiling brightly, she nodded and hugged him back, savoring the split moment before he walked off, leaving her there alone, grinning like an idiot. Giggling to herself, she wheeled the case out and towards home, the streets dark and cold. It always made her nervous when she was alone like this, but the thought of seein Noah tomorrow made everything a million times better.

Noah entered his house and most of the lights were off. It was late and his mother sat at the kitchen table on the lap top. "Where have you been?" She asked him, a worried look spreading across her face. "I saw Ever and said hi, that's all! Mom! I'm fine!" He said, smiling. "Oh OK but you make me nervous staying out like that!" Naoh shook his head and went upstairs a take a shower. Once he was done he crawled into his bed, laying with his hands behind his head. Even though he was tired all he could think about was Ever. "She must have gotten even prettier over the summer." He said to himself, "Though I don't think that it possible." This went on until he could take it no longer and his heavy eye lids fluttered finally shut.

Noah woke up the following morning. He stretched and yawned in his bed, getting up slowly. it IS the last few days I get to sleep in so what not take advantage of it? He thought with a tired smile. He finally sat up and got changed. Then he walked down stairs. He didn't see his family anywhere and figured his sister was still sleeping and his parents were at work. Noah popped some toast in the toaster and poured himself a glass of milk. He ate in silence, thinking of Ever. I can't wait until noon! He thought excitedly. Finishing the last bits of toast he heard his sister running down the stairs. She was still in her PJ's and her hair was everywhere. "Hey, bro." She said, yawning to show a mouthful of braces. "Hey." Noah replied, leaving the kitchen. He walked back up stairs and took out his laptop.
