First day of school- my senior year. The year that they
promised I could join them in their parties. The year I
finally can be promoted back to an Alpha. The original
leader of the pack has left, meaning my best friend
would become leader. I was demoted to a Beta because
they thought I was too fast and pretty. "Damn" I said to
them, "I can see why your jealous" It was meant to be a
joke, but they took it seriously, and bye-bye rank. I used
to be a cheerleader. Then I became an athlete. My
boyfriend used to be a jock, then he became the cheer
captin's boy. I hated them more than I hated salmon. My
parents told me to forgive and forget, but how could I?
My leader stole my boyfriend. Now the halls are echoey,
and all I hear are my footsteps. Techincally, my heels
against the cold tile floor. The place seems empty, but
actually, it's packed. It's only because my heart is empty.
