Tori dragged her lavender suitcase into the small house that they would be staying in for the next few weeks. It was winter break, and her mother insisted that this would be a wonderful family vacation. At first, Tori light-heartedly agreed to the suggestion, not really sure about the details, and ended up regretting her choice. Tori, her brother, and her mother would be isolated form civilization in a small town instead of spending their break by the coast of California, their home. On the bright side, her stepfather was not coming due to something about a business trip. She tried to be optimistic about the thought of coming to Winterville, but that was nearly impossible while trapped with her family. Her brother was complaining how he wanted to go home and hang out with his friends instead while her mother tried to list all the fun activities they could do together, which only had the opposite effect. Hoping to get away and actually enjoy the true wonder of Winterville and the annual festival, Tori called, "Hey, I'm going to go out. I'll see you both soon." She snatched her scarf along with a gray sweater and practically dashed outside before either of them could object.
Tori stepped out onto the sidewalk and took a deep breath of the refreshing breeze. It was cool and moist, unlike the hot and dry air she was used to at home. The change was nice, and she could not help but think she could get used to a place like this. Plus, there were blankets of snow covering the town, which was absolutely beautiful. She slipped her hand into her sweater pocket and emerged with a camera. This was a gorgeous, picture perfect moment that was wildly different from the rest of her gallery of images. Therefore, Tori wanted a snapshot and got her camera to do just that. Wandering off the path, she let her boots sink into the snow and snapped a picture when she found the ideal location. The breathtaking beauty of the pictures made Tori smile softly. As long as she escaped the prison of her family, she was content and could enjoy the town to the fullest. Anyway, Tori might be able to find someone here that she might not hate hanging out with. The chances were extremely slim, and she did not expect it. However, something inside of Tori made her hopeful that she would enjoy her stay.
