Sorrel nodded. She definately didn't want to be roaming the forest all night, sharing it with who knows what? She was sure the game-makers had not simply filled it with placid rabbits and turkeys. Nah. Knowing the Hunger Games, it'd be jam packed full of predators just waiting to rip her throat out. "I'm with you on that." She murmured, giving a dramatic shiver when ended up turning into a real one. "Who knows what's out there?" She then frowned at Vespa's comment: "It's yours, you should eat it.". The black haired girl gave a decisive headshake. "When we settle down for the night, we're sharing this. What's mine is yours, remember?"
As for the fact the girl might not get another...Sorrel was ridiculously elated to recieve one. This was nowhere near the most expensive gift a tribute had recieved in the arena- infact, it was overshadowed by the majority. But it meant that someone actually cared what happened to her, even though Sorrel knew there was a very real chance that it was only because he'd bet a large amount of money on her whilst to drunk to actually think about who he was sponsoring. Maybe a dare from his friends- sponsor the one most likely to die and if she gets into the top 5 they'd give him something...the possibilities were endless. Still, it made Sorrel feel marginally better as she marched onwards with her little silver bundle clutched to her chest like it contained the most precious thing in her world. That sounded wierd...her cat wrapped in a parachute. He'd hate it, Sorrel knew. Once, when she'd had to force a pill down his throat and she'd wrapped him in a towel because he was fighting dirty- with his claws and teeth, which hurt like nobody's buisness- and Syl had freaked. Not in anger, but genuine fear. He didn't like to be enclosed, and when Sorrel had moved to hug him when she'd finally realised he was going to get better the tom cat had leapt back in alarm and cuffed her on the nose. The only form of affection Sorrel was allowed to use to express her love to him that she might use on another human was a light kiss on the forehead.
Sorrel drifted out of her recollection, and asked Vespa: "What sort of place are we looking for? A cave, or just a clearing?"
In previous Hunger Games, tributes had climbed trees. Sorrel was definately NOT climbing a tree. She detested it. The girl would much rather sit in a bush- as she'd been doing that day before meeting Vespa- and she didn't see why that was an issue. It provided camoflauge, and a shield from the cameras. Well, unless the Capitol had invented some form of "leafcam" which they hide in the green foliage to spy on the tributes.
((sorry i took so long to respond to this))
Vespa Steangine
Health: 97
Weapons: Dagger
Allies: Sorrel
Where: Forest, Near Beach
Vespa bit her lip. She had wanted to suggest hiding in the trees, but on second thought, she didn't quite trust Sorrel enough to let the girl out of her line of sight at night. "I doubt there's any caves here. We're on an totally flat island. Since we're heading towards the beach anyway, we should probably just find some thick plants to hide in. No clearings though, we'd stick out like sore thumbs." They were pretty close to the beach now. Vespa could just see the water through the trees. She found an area where the bushes and trees made a small area of practically zero visibility. "Over here. This is perfect. Now do you want to stay up for the first shift, or should I?" She wanted to just insist on staying up first, but she was worried Sorrel would think she was plotting something. Of course, if Sorrel leapt at the chance to stay up while Vespa slept, the thought would most definitely cross her mind...
Twill Argile
Health: 84
Weapons: Pocket Knife
Kills: Asa, Fox, Zak
Location: Beach, Outskirts Forest
After Twill had spent about twenty minutes walking away from his previous campsite, he decided to stop for the night. The only trees nearby were tall, slender things with no branches and fern-like leaves, so he would have to either continue walking for who-knows how long until he found better trees, or sleep on the ground. The thought made him shudder. There could be animals and snakes and... bugs. A chill ran down his spine at the thought of dirty little carapacians walking all over him as he slept. He saw no better option at the moment, however, so her laid down his sleeping bag in a thick cluster of brush, using his backpack as a pillow, and slept, hoping for the best.
((I'll be willing to kill off Vespa after... three more tributes die, if you guys think more people should be dying. Can the palm trees have coconuts?))
