Emerald bit her tongue to keep from snapping at the girl. "No, I will not obey him." she hissed, her eyes growing dark. "I don't obey people like him. I might just mess up on purpose, just to piss him off. See what he thinks of me then." She took a deep breath then and glanced up at Dalia. "You shouldn't be afraid of him, he's just a big show boat with a loud voice and a whip." Her voice was rising as she said this, and the risk of her getting overhead was increasing. She didn't care though. Let them hear! Let them throw whatever they got! was her thought process, though it wasn't a very smart one.

Alina frowned in frustration and paused in her work with a sad smile, she didn't blame him for not understanding, it wasn't exactly easy. She started to go back to work when he asked her if she could read. She brightened up straight her father had taught each of his daughter's to write, or else they would have been of no use in his shop. She then realized that she had nothing to write with or on and sat still for a second thinking before she took Jack's hand and held it palm up. Emerald looked up at Dalia, frowning when she realized just how scared the girl was. "Don't worry, he won't hurt us. Not while I'm here. It's okay."

Emerald couldn't help it, but a wicked smirk split her lips. "I don't have a full plan formed yet, but we won't be on here for long. I'll get us out of here, all of us." She knew the girl probably wouldn't believe her, seeing as they didn't know each other. "I'm Emerald." she whispered, leaning closer to Dalia. "Leader of the Hood. Surely you've heard of us. You have nothing to fear anymore, we'll get us out of here."

Dalia remained silent and shocked. "Emerald, leader of hood?" she looked at her, frightened. "what leader like you do here? you go free us?" Dalia realized she hasn't introduced herself. "I sorry, I rude, I no remember tell you name. I Dalia. I from middle east, Arabia, that why I no speak well English. no persons teach me, I slave, they say I only work as slave, learn English no matter, I work. I speak Arabic good. Emerald smiled up at Dalia and nodded. "Nice to meet you." she said quietly. She'd heard of the middle east before, after all that's where King Richard and her father had gone to fight in the crusades. It's also how she got Envy. Guy brought a few of their beautiful Arabs back home and bred them. "I'm going to France to seek the help of the king, but then we got attacked. We fell into a hole and they caught us with a net."

"oh. you know way to help us free?" She whispered to her, hoping that there will be a miricale that would set all the slaves free from that horrible man, so she can return home to Arabia... well, once they get to France, and everything is all over, she will return to Arabia to her family.
