Arrow was 13 and a freshman in high school when the Venice Beach Freakshow opened its doors as a museum of natural oddities and curiosities. In a time-honored ploy to lure curious passers-by, Todd hired a female contortionist to perform on the stairs leading to the museum. And that got Arrow thinking. "I’ve always been very flexible, since I was a little girl," she explains. "So, I was like, 'Hey, Dad! I can do that, and I can bend really far!' I showed him how I could bend my leg over my head and do other things. The contortionist and I began doing an act together, and then I kept pushing myself and learning new things."
As a performer, Arrow is largely self-taught, and has developed her tricks through experimentation. She performs as The Rubber Girl and The Electric Lady, and also has a fire-eating act. She cuts a distinctive figure onstage, favoring glamorous, retro-tinged costumes and the sleek hairdo of a '40s movie star. "I’m fascinated by the female performers in early sideshows; they had such style and grace," she says. "To be a woman that can dress and behave with class, but also do extremely bad, crazy stunts – that’s what I’m striving toward. I love to surprise people: 'Oh she’s so cute, but she can eat fire and get electrocuted!'"

Sam looked towards Ella wondering how to answer he wasn't really sure of what to say or how to answer in any way without sounding stupid. Maybe anything he says right now will sound stupid especially for his brother who was looking up at him and laughing like a child watching his favourite cartoon. Max eyes lit up when he realized that his brother was about to make a fool out of himself but then he realized that he might not, that Sam might be calculating what to say but Max wasn't going to show his realization. What should I say was all Sam thought as he left off into his own little thought bubble like a person who would wreck anything by what he said. The strange thing was that he could just say I'm fine thanks what about you but he really wanted to think about it. Pulling himself away from thought he decided to just say whatever came into his head depending on what it was. "I'm okay, thanks are you okay?" Seemed to be the next thing that came into his head surprisingly so he just said it, sounding calm. "Well, I'm a little excited," Sam added feeling honest and actually happy, sounding like an excited child as well, he didn't feel embarrassed anymore, at least.

Ella, And here we went again, Sam hurled himself into his own personal thoughts, it interested me on how good he was at that. Practice, but I didn't much like the thought of that, it made me fell sad. It felt like I had known Sam my whole life, which was strange, because nobody had ever given me that kind of comfort before, not anything or anyone. I realized that I felt a lot for him as well, but I had only known him for a couple of days. I suppose that's how it starts, I almost didn't hear him speak, that's why I might have taken a while to respond, I sort of just guessed what he said hoping my answer made sense, but I wanted to try his way. So instead of just saying good, and im fine thanks. I decided I would think a little too, maybe put a bit more effort into the words or something. Maybe are you sure, no that's weird. Being here anyways, No one had asked if I was ok before, so I didn't have a good response for it. I just decided to go with a typical answer, this whole thinking thing, was well effective but hard, at the same time. "Its good, and Im good too" That was a little cheesy, kind of fake sort of wishy washy, I didn't like it, knew I should of though about it more. Dang. Oh well I said it now, to late to take it back, I guess it sounded better in my head. I gave a weak smile, but at least it was a nice smile.

Sam smiled at her as he thought about her answer, it was a great time and place actually the greatest for Sam. He was actually having fun even though the wind was up a bit but it wasn't that cold. He was glad that it wasn't too warm as well he hadn't really thought about the weather before even though he watched the weather forecast everyday. His eyes lit up and his smile as the child like Sam noticed that the line was getting smaller and also that it was almost their turn, he was over joyed about that. Returning from his childish thoughts, he looked around quizzically, a bit like he had just woken up in the middle of no where. His brother on the other hand was trying to look like tough competition by stretching his arms and legs, Sam could only laugh at his younger brother like he had when he did something embarrassing. To Sam his brother was like a puzzle he could never tell what his brother was going to do and sometimes what personality he was going to wear, he was like a drama queen but he was a boy! Then again he could be called a drama king or something else but really he could be an acting with the amount of personalities that Sam had realized his brother had. "Yep, it is good and my brother looks like he is ready for sports day" Sam chuckled a little as he talked about his brother, he really didn't expect to say anything about his brother maybe he was just doing what Max normally does to him. He shrugs his shoulders a little as he noticed his brother looking at him acting like he was wondering why Sam had said that with his eyes accusing and his mouth showing an angry smirk which Sam really had never thought he would see before today. Max looked like he was about to shout at Sam when Sam said "it looks like Max is real competition today," and smirked as well hoping to show that he was going to act like it was a competition too but he really wasn't sure if it was going to show that at all. To be honest he thought he might be making a fool out of himself again as he looked at Ella and her sister.

((Sorry, I'm not replying much, it is my last year of school and I am really behind in classes so I keep staying back to catch up, I'll probably reply more after the exams and my course work is finished and during the Easter holidays.))

Ella, It was hard for me not to watch him. His smile, his face, his body, his personality. All to catching, like he was a giant butterfly, full of never before seen colors, and had the most beautiful sense of humar, and freedom. He understood, which was something you didn't get to often, he didn't leave, he knew what happened, he stayed. That surprised me, to be completely honest, I expected him to run out the door, and never talk to me again, maybe that's what I found intriguing about him, I knew a lot already, open and honest. I found myself sitting in my own little bubble, of thought, and compassion. But I must have looked some what silly, standing there just plain staring at him. Heather, must have noticed. She grabbed my arm and gave it a sharp tug, but it didn't hurt she was to small to cause any real damage, that also scared me, that's why I hated to leave her alone, or with my parents before. But now, Sam agreed to watch her, maybe just for one day, but it made me feel so much better. Heather, tugged once more, when Sam spoke, like I was supposed to say something back, I thought a moment, so I could get it right "It's always good to prepare" I smiled. I watched Max he seemed, to get that same old evil smirk with his big eyes, in a squint, I smiled, trying not to laugh. I heard him speak again, competition great! "Well maybe he'll just take you down, in the game of bumper cars" I raised my eye brows, in a smile.

"He won't take me down, I am born for this" Sam said feeling the rush of competition take over him in the mist of the battle that they were going to take on, the bumper cars. Sam felt like he was about to enter the war even though he had never thought about the war before and didn't really think he would think of the bumper cars as war. He carried his pride lightly on his shoulders knowing that he could get taken down at any point and waked around with a giant smirk which actually did say I am taking this seriously. When Sam took stuff seriously he was, well, different more competitive and really didn't think about what he was doing so he was more carefree but that could be bad thing considering what he had done before. He crossed his arms tightly, he thought it would represent not given in but then again it also represented feeling strict, strict competition perhaps? He turned his focus away from Max, Heather and even Ella and focused on all the different techniques the other bumper car driver were doing. The only thing he wasn't prepared for, well of course, was the fact that his one weakness was on the track, Ella. He always knew that she would be his competition but he really didn't want to hurt her or even bump into her car, especially since what happened earlier and the fact that he cared too much but he knew he had to put that aside. Even though he didn't want to at all, he wanted to make sure she wasn't bumped into not bump into her himself, what was a guy to do? Especially when he wanted to be crowned victor of this, he defiantly wanted to be the winner but maybe that was a pride thing or just to impress Ella he wasn't sure but he defiantly didn't see the race as fun and games. He continued to watch the bumper cars, especially this one car which was doing exceptionally well in order to learn tricks to do well himself. He really wasn't one to fail, well he was but he didn't want to show it at all, like he didn't want to tell his secret but that wouldn't affect him in the bumper cars race or any competition to be exact, that was a long time ago and he defiantly didn't want a repeat especially in front of Ella and his brother. Also not in front of Heather because that would make him a bad influence to both Heather and Max.
