When Aden came back, he walked into the kitchen and grabbed a bottle of water. He drank half of it just standing there then looked at Hanna. He touched her shoulder, motioning to follow him. He walked out and sat on the covered back porch and sat down. Koda came up to him and jumped in his lap.

Aden frowned then got quiet for a long time. When he finally spoke, his voice was heavy. "He made me pick my own switches... I'd go out and get one and if it wasn't good enough, he'd beat me with it then make me go get another one then beat me again."
