michael elliot adornetto.
" I see humans, but no humanity. "
The trek had been long, treacherous. Other than the bouts of running where one of the group ( either himself, Riley, or Roman ) heard a noise, the journey had been utterly boring and most certainly tiring. He hadn't really rested in days. Whenever they had set up for the night to camp, he'd stay awake- eyes wide and listening to any noise that would inform him of the police's presence. This whole thing, sneaking to the border, was a stupid idea. How much trouble would they be in, when they got caught? He shuddered at the thought. Someone might as well go ahead and kill him, he guessed. It wasn't like his father wouldn't later.
Hands in his pockets, he trailed behind both Roman and Riley as they walked, unaware of where they were going, or even where they could end up. Micah, himself, had lost track of the direction they were going in long ago. They could be walking right back in the direction they came in and he wouldn't even know it. He wasn't cut out for this "nature" nonsense. He would much rather be back at home on his laptop, coding websites and things of the like. Those were the things he was good at, the things he liked- but no. He was stuck out here.
As they walked along, he listened to the bits of conversation everyone offered every once in a while. Though most of it was complaining, it brought his mind off of the current state of his body. The once pale skin that covered his nose and cheeks was now red from the sun, and the combination of mosquito bites, scraped knees and elbows, and bruised limbs surely took it's toll. Lack of sleep and nicotine carved dark half moons beneath his eyes, and his hair was a perfect mess. If he could have wished for anything, it would have been a hot shower.
Twisting to dig around in his knapsack, he made a valiant effort in the search to find something to eat. Between the three of them, the nutrigrain bars and beef jerky he had thought to pack had vanished quickly, and there wasn't much food, that he knew of, to be found out here. It was utterly ridiculous. Looking up from his search as Riley spoke, Michael snorted. "No idea." He quickly shrugged off his friend's arm, closing his backpack for the moment. He wouldn't find anything in there, anyways.
The sight of the cabin made him stop dead in his tracks. "It looks like something right out of a horror mov- Riley!" Ending his sentence abruptly, he chased after his friend, shouting his name as he did so. "No! No, no, no, no, no, no! There's a old farmer in there and he's gonna kill us and use our skin as furniture!"[[ Movie references yay. ]]
