Eva
She took a deep breath and steadied herself on the boulder beside her, attempting to stand. Her legs were still so weak. Her cardigan was so soaked at the edges, and it weighed her down significantly. Eva looked down when she felt the sand beneath her foot; just one. Just great she groaned inside of her head. Her throat was so sore; otherwise, she would have said it out loud. She slipped out of the sweater and the one sandal, as she began to round the boulder. There were so many people! Eva had some tinge of hope now, relief at the least. She wasn’t the only one she thought as she approached the groups, wiping her face again. The closest couple to her was one younger-looking girl leaving an injured man behind as she tended to others. Eva approached him, hoping he wasn't dead. She thought she had seen him move; maybe she was still dizzy.
Karen
“Over here!” she heard a deep, manly voice yell. Karen jerked her head up and back around, toward where the sound had come from. She faintly smiled a grin of relief, as her eyes set upon a burly man in a suit. Her legs wanted to give up, but Karen didn’t have that kind of chromosome in her. She got what she wanted, and she wanted a companion, if nothing more than an island mate (as in buddy). Upon arriving to his spot on the isle, Karen fell to her knees to rest. She exhaustedly exhaled and offered her hand to the man, “I’m Karen.” He took her hand and replied with his own name. “Do you think there are others?” she inquired, looking down the beach, which curved out and around to the left.
Todd
“Fine,” he grudgingly shrugged as his stomach pains gradually faded. He squinted from the rays of the sun beaming off of the white sand again, as he looked around, noticing something was off about this scenario. He sickeningly realized what it was. “But what are we going to do about that?” Todd gestured to the, undoubtedly, dead body underneath the girl’s legs. The heftier man’s body was already blue and clearly water swollen. Todd scanned the shoreline again, as the girl realized what it was he was hinting around about.
Liam
Liam reached out to aid the woman into an upright position; she refused his help and sat up on her own. He asked again, “Are you alright?” Liam scanned the woman for visible injuries. He didn’t see any, but that didn’t mean she wasn’t hurt. “Ma’am?”
