Love Story - Not Accepting -

Everyone's voice echoed around him. He could hear them but the echoes scared him. He kept his eyes closed not wanting to see all eyes on him. He had regretted getting into the water. Why did he always get into trouble?

Ran over to his brother and shook him lightly, "Joey? Joey! Open your eyes!" He told him frantically. "I hope he's okay.." He told them. Then remembered something he had seen on discovery channel, "Discovery channel said that if your ever stung by a jellyfish your supposed to..." He couldn't get the rest of the sentence out. It was just to gross for him to think about.

"What? Scott, tell us!" Mel said, instantly hoping that Joey was going to be okay. She would do anything. But if something like this was on the Discovery Channel, that probably wasn't good news for us. She looked down at Joey, and a wave of dread washed over her. What if he didn't wake up?

Scott

"Your supposed to pee on it," he said in disgust. He shook his head quickly. He doubted that anyone would do that. And he doubted that his brother would let anyone do it. He looked at the sting. It looked red and irritated.

It sure was a good thing that Aspen knew a lot about water safety crap. She had took a beach lifeguard camp. Just for fun with a few friends hopin she'd see some hot lifeguards, but it finally came in handy.

First, Aspen nodded at Mel. "Well, at least he didn't swallow any water." she said noticing steady breathing. But they were still about ankle deep in water. Aspen stood up and hooked her arms under Joey's and hauled him upshore with ease.

Told you she was stronger than she looked.

That way she could see the damage easier. She spotted Hempton on the sidelines, looking like he was having a panic attack. "It's okay Mitch! Just a jelly!" And it was okay. Jellyfish stings weren't all that serious unless it was up higher on the torso or if you were allergic. Her hand stung quite a bit, and the little swat caused a red welt to erupt on her skin, but she ignored the pain and focused on Joey. It wasn't stuck on her nearly as log as him, so his leg was swollen and bright red. Aspen chewed her lower lip the tiniest bit in thought.

"Hey Mel? Can you get me some water?" she called over rather calmly as if nothing happened. The best solution was to stay calm. "I have a water bottle by my towel." she added on helpfully and pointed toward her stuff.

Then Scott spoke up and she cringed at the solution. Water would work for now.

Mel ran over and got Aspen's water. Then she sprinted back and handed it to Aspen. Her face was screwed up at the nastiness of Scott's information. Aspen seemed to know what she was doing, so Mel let her take over. She had to be content to just sit by Joey and look worried. It wasn't too hard, because her heart was pounding.

Aspen unscrewed the water and slowly let the chilly liquid trickle on the irittated wound. It must feel better than before because her hand felt warm and the water was chilly. As soon as she saw the swelling go down a bit, Aspen realized she had been holding her breath and slowly let it out. She stopped the water and poured a little on her tingling hand, sighing in relief.

Joey

He opened his eyes finally and saw everyone. He gave a little smile to them. This pain wasn't as bad as he felt on the inside. Even though it had been 7 years since his mom died and 3 years since his father went to jail, he still felt broken. Then to see the girl he loves everyday and not being able to tell her how he felt.

Mel felt tears at the edges of her eyes, and tried not to let them flow. "Joey!" She said, smiling. She flung herself at him and gave him a huge hug. "Don't scare me like that!" She said, pulling away from him. Now the tears were gently screaming down her face. She didn't want to look weak, but she didn't care.

Joey
Laughed in pain, "I don't think i would be dead from a jellyfish sting, even though it freakin hurts." He mentioned how much pain it was for him. He saw the tears forming in her eyes and wiped her face with his sandy hand. "Its okay," he reassured her.
