You're a Criminal

A young adult and you've already got an impressive track record -- in crime. Thievery, arson, forgery, assault, murder. Lying is an art form. You spin new stories and characters every day. Every time you walk into the room you formulate different ways of escape. Indeed, you're probably one of the most wily and skilled people of your age. Not that it'll help you any. You're a wanted man.
At least you would be -- if you were ever caught.
Yeah, you're so awesome. You pulled off your crime without nothing but half - formed theories to follow you out of the place. No one in the general public knows your face, nor what you've done, and the government and law enforcement have circumstantial evidence at best. You ran around for a while, didn't stay too long, but after coming to this large city you figure that, with everyone around and the sheer size of the place, finding you will be like finding a needle in a haystack. You settle down, lead a rather mundane life (for the most part), and currently you're just finding your way around this place, arrogantly assuming you're home free.
You should've seen this all coming, then. You were careless.

You're a Hitter

You're the best at what you do -- for a price. Whether you're new to the entire scene or you're a veteran, you're professionally trained in the art of killing. Your reflexes are excellent, your body at the peak of physical excellene, and you're quite smart, if you do say so yourself. A gun for hire. That's what you are. Nothing but the job matters, once you get it.
As a professional, your face is unknown -- or rather, it's supposed to be. Maybe you slipped up once in your past. Wasn't really your best move. In any case, being discreet is your talent. It's no use attracting attention to yourself. After all, what you're doing, strictly speaking, isn't technically legal. In some ways you're just like the criminals...except you don't leave traces when you finish the job. And you get steady pay. That's always a plus.
Recently you've received a new job. Whether it's from a vengeful family member, a suspicious government member, or just some anonymous man offering you a good price, you set off to finish and get your dues. You expect it'll just be like any other job. Find. Kill. Clean up. Get money. Nothing new.
You've tracked your target to a large city that's infested with criminals, whether official or not, and you groan to yourself. How are you supposed to find someone in this place? But you're a professional, remember. You don't fail.

So What Happens Next?

Do you run into other criminals here? There is a school or two around, after all, and even if you've long since graduated you've made a habit of wandering popular haunts. Of course, trust really isn't much of a word to you. Still, when these killers come in, you might want to have some back - up. Don't get involved with these guys. Confrontation really isn't much of a strength of yours.

You'll probably run into some sort of competition. It's a big city, and there are lots of criminals, here. But hey, as long as they don't get in your way, you couldn't care less. But pinning this one target down might be harder than you thought. How about it, you want to make an alliance with some other hitters in the area? Of course, groups like these never last long, and you run the risk of someone knowing your face, afterwards. Still, with help you can get this job done in half the time...

Ｉ. All of Tess' Rules. Realize that those are about 10 rules all on their own, and I expect you to follow them all without me listing them all out again, here. Please don't break any of these. They're mostly just basic RP rules, and are a must for each RP, in my opinion In addition, please follow my own rules below.

ＩＩ. I don't know how to tell you this, but I'm the mod. Therefore, in the end it's my say. Generally I think you'll find me quite pleasant, but please don't try and push any buttons. I refuse to take any nonsense from anyone. If I feel you're disrupting the RP's experience or if I get any complaints from anyone about anything that I believe is an actual legitimate reason for raising the point, I'll give you a warning, and if you continue the same behavior I'll ban you. Some of this behavior is fighting and rudeness OOC, as well as mini - modding when you're not the mini - mod (this one is a huge pet peeve for me. If I were you I'd not test this. )

ＩＩＩ. This RP is semi - lit to literate. I'm expecting at least one good paragraph per post. This means at least 7 lines (not sentences) with writer's block, and it must have good grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Writer's block is not a valid excuse for every post you make. Typically, on a good day where you feel like you could write an entire novel without any problem, I'd like maybe 15 lines or 2 good paragraphs. Of course, these sorts of days tend to be few and far between, I find, so just keep it to a paragraph. Please note that I am determining your literacy based on the quality of your form. I won't be looking at the posts you've previously made or anything, either, so make sure to show yourself off!

ＩＶ. This is a limited space RP! I'm accepting a total of 8 people comprised of 4 girls and 4 boys, and 2 of each in either criminal or hitter. You may make up to 2 characters. I don't care if you gender balance, but if we have like 5 girls and 0 boys...do me a favor and make a guy for me? Similarly, if we have 5 hitters and 0 targets, make a target, please? If you do make 2 characters, note that I really don't care if they're both the same gender/profession. However, please use your best judgement where you put them, especially when taking in the character slots that are currently open. Please PM your forms to me. I dislike my threads being spammed with forms that don't make the cut. Now, let me say something again: PM YOUR FORM TO ME. If you post your form without my explicit permission, I'll deny you right then and there, no matter how good your form might be. Note that I do have the right to deny you, even if you do PM it to me (although usually I'll just ask for a few edits here and there unless your literacy really isn't up to par). Please don't whine or make a fuss out of it. And if I do deny you because you didn't PM your form to me, please don't assume I'll turn right around and accept you if you just PM it to me after I tell you you're denied because of some rule discrepancy. That tells me that you only looked at the rules because I said you had to. Although, if you're reading this you shouldn't have any problem. Also, there are no reservations in this RP. I don't like giving out reservations because that means I have to accept you (assuming you finish your form) without fully knowing your literacy, which I find a little unfair to other people who may potentially have better literacy. Furthermore, if you let me know you're working on a form, please finish your them within 3 days, or I'll assume you're no longer interested and will disregard your form. I like to keep tabs on forms that I should be expecting, you see. I'm going to ask that you use your own form. Be sure to cover the name, age (18-25), gender, if you're a hitter or criminal, what you're most skilled at (in terms of skills specific to either a hitter, such as firearms, or criminals, such as hacking), and how active you are. Note that I am taking your answer as one of the deciding factors as to whether or not I should accept you. if you're not as active as I'd like, I'll probably deny you. similarly, if you inaccurately depict your activeness I won't hesitate to kick you off. Also, if you're a criminal, please include a specific crime you've done such that there's a hitter coming after you.

Ｖ. Sure, you can have a romance or something between any of the characters here. All I ask is that you don't come with a crush and/or a girlfriend or boyfriend (because no one knows each other at the beginning, and I don't encourage cheating, even in RP form). I also don't care what your character's sexual orientation is. However, note that each criminal will be paired with a hunter (randomly) so they can have their own hunter - target thing going on. Of course, this does not mean that you are restricted to interacting with this one character, nor are you required to love the person you are paired with. You're free to fall for another hitter or another target. If you feel like you'll cry if you don't have this person to target or this person to hunt you down, you can make a specific request, if you'd like. Be sure to PM the person or let them know on the thread for permission.

ＶＩ. I know we all get excited to respond a ton when we're RPing with someone, but please use your common sense. If like ten posts later no one else has posted, that probably means they're like "WUT ALKDJF LKJ;FA KSJF ;IO LJKLKJ C" because there are too many pages and posts to read. I'm not going to deal out specific rules to how often you post, but if you find that you've RP-ed with the same person for a while without interruption, will it be too much to give it a break? Please don't make this into a 1x1. Incidentally, please don't go over 5 pages without me. I'm on often enough, so that shouldn't be much of a problem.

ＶＩＩ. I actually don't care what point of view you roleplay in (first, third, whatever), but if you do post in first person, just post their name as a header or something, or at least say their name once in the post so we can tell who's talking without having to flip back to the character page. I also don't care if you beautify your posts, just make them easily legible, and try not to clutter them too much. There's a point where things become gaudy rather than decorative. Just keep that in mind, please.

Her full name is Alexandra Seunghae Keum, although because of mispronunciations she's come across Alexandra sticks to just introducing herself as her preferred nickname "Alex" and tells her last name only when she has to. Alexandra had little meaning to her parents besides its aesthetic, as Alex is a first generation Korean in America. They thought that having an American name would be helpful later [it was]. Her middle name comes from an argument of her father and her grandmother, who wanted to name her "Seung" and "Unhae" in Korean respectively, meaning "victory" and "grace". In they end they meshed them together, so her middle name is just as exotic in Korea as it is in the US.

"Twenty."

Alex was actually born a few weeks late on June 27th, 1992. For whatever reason, Alex was not born on the predicted date, and eventually the doctors had to use a C - Section. Of course, it was relatively painless, and her mother and Alex came out of it fine. That was about the only eventful thing about her birth. Alex amuses herself by thinking that when she was younger even then she was too lazy to move.

Alex isn't exactly a pixie, but it's clear that she's quite feminine. Her shoulders slope and are rounded, and her face shape is rather round. Her eyes are actually quite large, accentuating her girlish air. Her long hair, of course, is most typically also a give away.

Not a huge admirer of needles and things that skewer her, Alex never opted to get ear piercings. And she never felt the need to in the first place, anyway, since she rarely wears jewelry anywhere. Dressing herself up really isn't her thing. And the thought of sticking metal pieces into her ear somewhat bothers her. In a similar vein, getting a tattoo terrifies her, and having a low tolerance for pain Alex would never be able to take getting one. She wouldn't know what to ask for, anyway.

Alex is a huge fan of her own hair. On her sixteenth birthday, feeling incredibly bored, she and her friends went to the mall for the day and dyed her hair for the heck of it. Knowing that she wanted a more vibrant color, Alex went ahead and chose a blue color, and within a few hours her hair was streaked. To everyone's surprise, Alex thought she looked awesome, and everyone had to agree that streaks really agreed with her. She's kept it that way ever since.

Although in brighter light her eyes do look brown, typically it's easier to say they're almost black. The only reason Alex says they're brown is because it's listed as brown on her medical forms and official documents. They're hooded, which makes them seem perhaps a bit thinner than they would otherwise, but they're already large enough, Alex thinks. She'd never had any problem seeing out of them. Usually they're set in a rather exasperated eye roll.

Alex stands at a comfortable five feet six inches [5'6'']. While her mother and father aren't the tallest people around, her aunt was actually quite tall, which is probably the only reason why Alex has nearly grown as tall as her father. Alex is quite satisfied with her height, feeling that she's not too tall but tall enough to gain some attention.

Alex is already rather thin, so she tends not to stress too much about her weight. It's probably going to catch up with her in a couple of years, but for now she's really not worrying about it. Alex actually weighs about 124 lbs, which isn't a sin for her height. Alex doesn't really work out much, although she did gain some muscle by working for a while as a babysitter [she had to hold tons of kids for tons of time] and a bit by her viola playing. In any case, she probably won't give you much of a fight.

From the top down, the first thing you'll ever notice is Alex's hair. For obvious reasons. Next is her longer neck. It's not like it's a giraffe's neck, but it does give her a bit of a regal air. Continuing on, Alex's shoulders are rather narrow and curl inwards due to a rather disappointing posture that she has. Typically she slumps and slouches because she feels that it takes too much energy to stand up straight. She's trying to put in a better effort nowadays. Her shoulders also slope down, making handbags a huge annoyance. Her hips are rather wide, which frustrate her because her upper body doesn't really balance it out all that well. Maybe once she's in her thirties or something she'll look better. Her arms are disproportionately long to her body, although not freakishly so. Her hands are rather small, making viola playing a real thrill a minute.

While she might look rather meek and pleasant, she'll only flaunt that side if you've seriously won her over (you'll probably have more luck going to Hell and back) or if she'll get something out of it and it's in her best interests. Therefore, if you're not about to kill her or are her superior that can fire her at any moment, she couldn't care less about what you might think of her, especially if she'll never see you again. Alex figures that if she never meets you ever again, then she shouldn't have to worry about holding back.

Clearly, Alex is a brutally blunt person, and usually these comments will come out in the form of an insult. And even when she is genuine in her comments, the way she says it usually makes her seem arrogant, condescending, or self - centered when in actuality she feels that she's only just stating a fact. Alex doesn't understand why people get all uptight when she states a fact.
This is a talent of hers. Alex is able to pull away from the situation despite what her feelings might be and observe the concrete known factors of the problem. As a result, Alex is more of a pessimist, but she figures that if she figures the worst she'll be prepared for the worst.

She's not exactly the most loyal person in the world. Basically, she'll ally with someone that matches her best interests, whether it be a hot meal for two months or a full pay of rent for a year. Alex is not above taking bribery, but she'd never sell herself away. She's too self - respecting and proud to do something like that.

While her memory isn't good, Alex will eventually recall a conversation here or there if there was something of particular interest. Thus, Alex is also capable of blackmail. She believes that she has to do anything to survive. And besides, it's not like you're ever going to see her, again.

She's not much of a super genius, but she is smart. Alex rarely repeats words. If she read more nonfiction novels she might start sounding like a genius, but as it is she's got no time to read anything but the wanted lists, anymore.

Alex is capable of blowing things out of proportion and waving her hands around to make a point (she thinks that'll probably make you remember what she was saying better). She can also underrate something. In both circumstances she'll use logic to argue her point, and usually this line of thought is straight, concise, and to the point. Alex has no patience for subtleties. Actually, she has no patience for anything, period.

Her sarcasm is a rather unfortunate talent of hers, although it might just be a defense mechanism against things that she doesn't' want to deal with. Her sarcasm is somewhat connected to her assumed casual demeanor around people. Alex is quite relaxed around others, and while she might not have much patience she doesn't have much problem talking about more personal things. Of course, she doesn't go telling her life story to complete strangers, but you can safely say that Alex has few boundaries. Some people may find it disconcerting while others may not care at all.

American colloquialisms got the better of Alex a while ago. She tends to freely say "Oh, my God", "Crap", "Shoot", and other things without much thought of it. Her logic is that it's just a word, although of course she'd never say anything racial or sexist. That's a different sort of boundary Alex couldn't presume to cross. Alex has little consideration of those around her, especially when she says these things. She can therefore be perceived as self - centered and rude.

Alex has lived a rather normal life. She had both of her parents and she had one baby sister born into the family when she was ten, so their age difference was quite pronounced. Alex moved around about two times, living in three different states in the US in response to job opportunities for her dad and later for her mom. First they lived in Seattle, Washington, moved down to San Francisco, then made a large leap to the mainland, where they settled in Cleveland, Ohio. It was a large shock for Alex, especially in the winter. She had only seen perhaps an inch of snow at most in her first home in Seattle, and she had moved from there when she was 6. By the time she had arrived to Cleveland she was 11.

Because her adolescent years were completely fulfilled in Cleveland, Alex says that it's the town that she mostly grew up in. She feels that from 13 on is the time when teens are finding themselves, like the Mid-Life Crisis. She grew up as a loud and vitriolic student at an all-girl's private school (which may also have contributed to the lack of boyfriend, which Alex never felt a specific need for). She did well and was at the better half of her class, as were her closest friends. All in all, she was quite satisfied with her life. She had nothing much to complain about, and while sometimes she did blow up over nothing like most teenagers did, Alex didn't whine very much. Her parents stayed together and she went to a good school. Her family was in a stable middle-class rank. Alex had a baby sister (which tended to be one of her complaints now and again).

Her innate attraction to computers lead her to some sticky stuff. At first it was just cracking her school's system, change around some lunch menus, maybe bump up a grade or two. Slowly, however, hacking grew on Alex like an addiction. She needed more challenges, tougher fire walls, better viruses and better equipment. She was practically attached to her laptop by the hip. In addition, she created multiple fake identities for herself and others. When she was tracked back to her computer, she burned it -- literally burned it -- and took her identities with her before leaving her family to deal with the authorities.

Alex is talented in speed reading out loud and internally, and she's quite good at logic puzzles. Otherwise, everything else is rather mediocre. Her ear is pretty good, although her singing isn't. She can doodle and make it clear she's drawing a face, but beyond that there's not much she can do. She insists she's just as mediocre on the viola, but in reality she might have a real talent there. Still, she's never really compared herself to other players mostly because she'd never heard many others outside of her school's orchestra, so she can't really tell how good she is comparatively to others. She doesn't think she's anything special, though. Obviously, she's quite talented at hacking and can get her way with almost anything computerized, and typically tends to get her cash from forging identities and wiring money from local ATMs. Although she's quite flexible, she typically doesn't run around much, so once you figure out who she is the actual act of catching her won't be much of a problem.

Description:The picture isn't the best: Kiro has odd features. He's thin, if not skeletal, and gives off a bit of a vulnerable aura. Once one nears him though, that is utterly thrown off. With a mocking or just blankly and unexplainably cheery grin, a stance that is natural for someone who has fought before, and a reckless face that suggests that he couldn't back away if he wanted to, Kiro is not as he appears. His eyes are not the kind that one gets lost in, but rather skim over, blankly happy. His face gives away very little about what he's thinking, although a smile almost always fills it. He has a scar above his left eye and burn over the back of his neck. For this reason, he wears his dark hair long for a boy, usually tied back into a inch or two long pony-tail, which generally hide these features. He's not 'attractive', but rather looks like a hyperactive child dressed in simple clothes, usually very light despite the season. At this point, everywhere below his neck is covered in scars. There is a most impressive one across his left side, spreading almost across the right as well, which also has scars from surgery over it. There are always bandages wrapped under his hair and across his right eye, which is now gone from an accident when he was younger.
Kiro is not very tall for his age, much to his irritation. Despite that, Kiro is to be feared; slim and small he may be, but he can hit hard. With his weight always on his toes, all of his limbs tense, he looks ready to pounce at any moment. And, for all one might know, he could be.

Personality:He's unstable. Generally he has a blankly cheery face, laughing at simple things, and all around in a good mood, even at the most unfitting of times. Despite this, his temper is violent and to be feared, but rarely appears, but can suddenly arrive with little to no warning. It recedes either instantly or very slowly, leaving him with let another grudge to add to his forever growing list on enemies, as he never forgives. When confused, scared, depressed, or any unpleasant emotion other than anger, he simply pushes it away, leaving a blank smile in its place. He's a bit slow to react to questions, is easily suspicious, and has a tendency to back-stab even friends. Skye is impossible to read, usually even to himself, and its near pointless to try. Treating him like insanity victim or a little kid is a very big mistake, and will result in near-death.
When he snaps, it's bad. Thankfully he knows when those fits are coming and makes himself calm. If he does anger though to that extent, someone dies. It's just a kind of undeniable fact that Kiro doesn't bother to try to change. Unless he actually cares about the person he's furious at, or knows they'll be of use. Even if they don't die at his hands because of that, he'll still probably impale whoever it is. If he's not angered though, Kiro will actually bother to protect friends, and do his best to keep them alive. Until his own life is endangered, or he's no longer needed desperately, in which case Kiro is long gone. Do not expect loyalty; Kiro's opinions of someone/something change rapidly, and he values his own life above all else.
With his friends, Kiro can be nice, if he has good reason to. This boy is capable of laughter, I assure you, and smiling. He just doesn't do it very often. If you're weak or of no use to him, he doesn't care about you one bit. However, when he sees someone he knows doesn't deserve it(ex: a child who fell off a rock and broke their leg) he will try to help them. Once again assuming, of course, that no harm will come to him if he does.
Position: Criminal
Skills: He's most talented at hand-to-hand fighting, or with various blade weapons. He's stealthy and is more of a thief then an assassin, but all it takes is a blade in the right place, eh?
Activeness: I normally can post 5 out of every seven days if not more, I will tell you if I'll be gone for longer then a day.
