Crush: MaybeThere were a few riders that had arrived early- including me -and they were spending there free time by visiting their horses. I had decided earlier on Levi's jeans that fit just right, a sports bra, an old tee with the sleeves cut-out, and my worn cowboy boots. My Tony Llama's are my prized possesion and I will wear them until my feet rub out the soles. It took me all summer of my Freshman year to raise the money working and when I bought them I bought them a size or two too big so that I would fit them for awhile hopefully. I headed over to the stables.
I called out to my horses by doing a bird call. This particular bird doesn't live in the area which, but it lives back home which is why I learned it. Some horses whinny as I open the gate and sneak in. My foal, Jack, was sleeping in the stall next to his mother, Alice. I was surprised to see that they are already separating the two, but whatever works. Taking large strides, I walk up to Alice's stall and her eye open groggily. "Good Morning, Beautiful," I smoothly said. We were well acquainted, but she still let me reach out a hand and stroke her. I was glad to have an instant connection with her. She would be a joy. When his mom was petted, Jack bolted upright and did a small dance. "Calm down, Jack!" I said although it made little difference. It looked as if he were a soldier marching in place as I tried to slip him a sugar cube to calm him. He wouldn't take it and I knew he would be a lot of work.“Even if you stumble, you’re still moving forward.”
