"You can count on me..."

"Alright, cool." I told Thessaly in an almost whisper. Those bright blue eyes glowed in the dark of the night. And in a moment of completely forgetting I wasn't the risky type, I leaned into her right cheek and kissed it softly with my lips. Thessaly had been so accepting to me. And I felt like more thank yous wouldn't be enough. I wanted to show her my gratitude. After the cheek kiss, I pulled away just slightly and my eyes averted towards the ground. Well that was different of me.

I felt Mason leaning in and pressing his lips to my cheek gently. I swallowed the lump that had risen in my throat, staring up at him as he pulled away. I hesitated, then leaned in and kissed his cheek back. "Thank you," I said, my speech not more than a whisper. "For everything."

"You're welcome. And thank you." I told Thessaly quietly, my voice still hushed as I smiled at her. I couldn't believe she'd kissed me back. Well, on my cheek. But still...I felt warmth just feeling her lips on my cheek. Suddenly, I actually felt a rush of something more than just my normal, calm, shy feelings. Happy. I didn't want to leave. But I watched as the sky darkened.

I smiled softly, nodding my head once at his thanks. I didn't want to leave anytime soon, but I knew I probably had to. Still, I didn't want to. Besides, I was used to staying up late and exploring at midnight, and I was allowed to anyways. There wasn't really a curfew or anything.

Message: "well I like to skateboard and just, idk, chill? hey can I ask you something? how did you get my number??"

Niall looked back to Lacy. "No, we're not even friends. Not really. Sh*t, I don't even know her last name!" Niall added with a laugh. The room darken as the movie started.

"So...I probably don't have to go home just yet. Lola's probably still out somewhere...doing something..." I told Thessaly, stalling so I could be with her longer. "She's my insane sister." A small chuckle followed my comment on Lola. It was true though. She was probably out somewhere hanging with girlfriends. Lola texts all the time, and won't bother sending me a message explaining where she is. But I knew I'd raised her not to stay out until three in the morning. "Maybe we still have some time to just walk around the park."

I nodded slightly, still watching him carefully. I started walking again, reluctantly pulling myself away from him as I did so. I still held his hand, however, our fingers still entwined.
