The others began to zone off, looking out the window which showed us the pictuesque scenery. Just after a few momentsof longing the homesickness began to sink in. All I could think of was Daddy, fishing, home, Manny, the maid, mother. . . All of my good memories of my mother have been taken over by a mental image of her and the British photographer. She loved us so why did she leave? "Who is everybody?" I said, trying to remain ceerful but my voice was stained with fear. "I'm Allison." My sweet, genuine smile never faded although I honestly felt like crying. How could I marry a stranger?
I was again scan the room and examine my possible husbands. Maybe it was the first guy who started out in the suit, but soon changed into casual clothes. He was not a good-looking guy, but who am I to judge someone based off of their looks being as homely as I am. Next was the British guy. He was simply adorable with his blue eyes and dark hair, but his accent brought back bad memories. I can't blame him for being British, I suppose, but it would make life so much easier. Finally, my eyes landed on the new guy. He was quiet which I admired but he wasn't a dream-boat in the looks department though. The marriage is arranged though, so beggars can't be choosers. Who's begging? I have time to wait, but that is not an option.
