The Poor Gangs
You live in the cold streets of New York City, alone, but not alone. You have your "gang". They aren't like people would expect a gang to be. They don't break windows and cause trouble. It's more like a group of friends, but they all have one thing in common: They're poor. Either they're orphans, homeless, or have caring parents or older siblings but not much money. Many of them are school drop-outs and many of them smoke and drink. You remain loyal to your "gang" always and if one is in trouble, you all go and back them up. You help each other out, like a close family. You don't often fight with the other "gangs" and if you do, it's always a fair fight.
Sometime, you don't like the people in your "gang", but you defend them as much as you'd defend someone you do like. It's all you have, anyway.
The Rich Gangs
You're not really rich, but you have a better life. You have nicer clothes, nicer shoes, you're cleaner, and you have a bigger house. Maybe you're not very close with your parents, but you have your "gang" too. You often go and pick on the poorer people, laughing and taunting them, jumping them, starting fights. You get all the hot guys or hot girls. Your gangs have names, and you're gang fights are almost never fair. You cause a little trouble, but not much. Loyalty isn't as important, but you still defend each other.
