Natalie smiled. She walked in the cave and saw Steve. She hugged his neck and scratched his chin. He purred a bit.

Liz smiled over at him while she was petting the horse. "Thanks." she said. She watched him carefully. He was actually kind of attractive. Not that I care or anything she thought to herself, but she was having a hard time believing her own thoughts

Jared smiled at Jayde. She really wasn't all that bad, once you got to know her. He sighed and leaned his head back against the wall. "You really hate it here, don't you?"

"Who doesn't..." She grumbled. "You're abducted and taken to a strange island and expected to survive on your own." This place is hell. She added silently. Astatine was asleep and she stared at him blankly. "You're stranded with no hope."

Austin

He grinned at Natalie and Steve before walking over to Zinc and patting his neck. "Sorry, horse. Couldn't find any apples." He had been looking on their to and from the beach and hadn't spotted a single apple tree.

Natalie smiled at Austin. "Now what do you want to do?" She asked. She stood up and brushed off her jeans.

"Hope." Jared repeated. He sighed. "I think that's your problem Jayde. You've given up hope." he looked over at her with a solemn expression on his face

"It's hard not to lose hope when you've been here as long as I have." She traced her finger over the floor of the cave in an invisible drawing. Az chittered softly and fluffed his feathers next to Athena.

Austin

He shrugged and sat down. "I dunno. What do you wanna do?" Zinc nudged him and he absent-mindedly back-handed his neck.

Jared watched her carefully. He understood how she felt. He had given up hope when his parents had died. He waited until she looked back up at him. And when she did all he said was "I know."

"I already picked going to the beach. It's your turn." Natalie replied. She walked over to Austin and sat down beside him. Then she leaned her head on his shoulder.

"Hmm." She curled up with her back facing him, staring blankly at the opposite wall. Her leg and foot still stung but they had sealed up into ugly scabs and scars. Astatine continued to stay next to Athena, protective of the new little macaw.

Austin

"But I don't know where to go..." He said. He tried to think good tourist spots on the island. He camme up with nothing. Austin sprawled out on the floor with his limbs in opposite direction, looking a bit dead.

"Ok. Then...." Natalie thought for a moment. Trying to pick and idea. "Would you rather?? Eat an octopus or a squid?" She asked.
