Natalie laughed. "Aren't you going to swim?" She asked. Then she raced forge waves and dove in. The water was cool and refreshing. She sighed in happiness.

Austin watched her, amused. "Nah. I'll hang back here." He sprawled out in the hot sand and let the sun bake his face and arms. Listening to the crashing waves and the heat on his eyelids eventually lead the boy into a light nap. He wondered how every other kid was holding up... Last tie he saw another was when Clairna passed his and Natalie's cave.

Tyler

He stayed hidden from the boy and his tiger, decided whether or not to show himself. Dart in and take the fish and not starve but get mauled by a tiger... Or stay where he was and starve but not have claw marks littering his body....

"How 'bout that." Jared said, smiling. He peeked down at Athena, stoking her feathers. He looked back up at Jayde and smiled again for no good reason

Jayde saw him smiling from the corner of her eye but avoiding looking at him. Astatine fluffed his feathers and walked back over to Athena, preening her baby feathers with his hooked beak. "Huh... I guess he wasn't going to eat her." The girl said, raising an eyebrow at the birds. Strange creatures...

"Guess not." Jared replied. He watched Astatine preen Athena and sighed. He looked back up at Jayde. "I have a question, but I'm not sure if you're gonna like it or not."

Jayde narrowed her eyes before looking back down at the birds. "Ask away..." She mumbled with false enthusiasm. The Red-Fronted Macaw settled next to the hatchling with his wing spread over her tiny body. The girl smiled faintly when she saw his movements. "Aw, Az. Your mothering instincts are showing."

Fang's nose twitched, and she lifted her head. She let out a low growl and stood up, her eyes flashing. Blake lifted his head and looked towards Tyler's direction. He didn't see him though. He patted Fangs head, and she advanced, ready to gently drag in any harmful thing, show it to Blake, and decide whether or not he should kill it.

Jared smiled own at the birds. He then looked up at Jayde and braced himself. "Why do you push everyone away from you?" he asked. He was genuinely curious, but he knew she would be reluctant to answer

Her hands clenched into fists at her sides when the question was asked. "Because anyone I ever get close to either abandons me or dies." Her voice was monotone. Dead. Her parents had been her best friends in life, but they died when she was young and she went to an orphanage. Her friends all heard about this and quit hanging around her. Bullied her at school.

Tyler

He froze when the tiger readied for an attack. "I'm not going to kill anybody, you stupid beast." He called to the tiger before launching himself into a tree and swinging up into its higher branches, where the tiger would be too heavy if it climbed.
