James hummed a song that his mom had taught him. It had always helped him sleep.

Amber smiled and was soon asleep. As the nightmares started to occur she jumped and trembled a bit in her sleep.

James sighed and kissed her on the cheek.

Amber smiled but the nightmares didnt go away they just got a bit better. After a few hours Amber woke up with a jump. She didnt cry or anything she just laid on his chest with her eyes open.

"Are you ok?" james asked quietly.

Amber looked up at him and sat up. She hugged her knees and put her head between them.

He sat up with her and wrapped an arm around her protectively. "I'm right here." He whispered.

Amber nodded slowly. She managed to calm herself down inside and relaxed. She put her head in his chest.

James kissed the top of her head and shushed her. "I won't let anything happen to you. I promise." He whispered.
