Sydney looked up at him and smiled. She reached around to feel the back of her head and found that it was still tender. "A little," she admitted. She pressed her head against his chest and sighed. "I just wish that I hadn't been home when whoever did this to me came. Then I would be able to remember," she said quietly.

Alec wrapped his arms around her gently. "It just take's time," He whispered quietly, kissing the top of her head gently, being careful. "If there's one thing I know it's that no matter how hard you wish you can't change the past. My mother used to always tell me don't dwell in the past before tomorrow comes because tomorrow is a new day to wash your problems away. It would always confuse me when I was younger, but as I got older I slowly started to understand what she meants," he said quietly.

Sydney nodded. She felt a tear slide down her face and sighed. So many times today she had cried. "I know, I just...I," she started, but she couldn't finish because if she continued she would really start crying. She had lost so much and she didn't know how to get it back. She buried her head against Alec's chest and just let the tears fall

Alec let her cry quietly keeping his arms around her and rubbed her back soothing in small circles. He did his best to calm her down whispering soothing words quietly. "It's okay Sydney. You're not alone in this. We'll get through it together," He whispered soothingly too her. He hoped that it comforted her somewhat to know that even though she couldn't remember things she didn't have to face it by herself.

Sydney nodded and pulled back to look up at him. "I think I'm gonna sleep now," she said. But before she got comfortable, she reached up and kissed him. He was so good to her and she couldn't even remember what they had done together. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled herself closer.

"Okay," Alec said with a small smile, kissing her back and smiling against the kiss. He pulled the sheets over them, kissing the top of her forehead. "Sweet dreams," He said quietly, keeping his arms around her like normal. It was so natural for him to have his arms around her, to fall asleep to her breathing, that it had become like a drug to him. He couldn't sleep without having her in his arms. That one week he was away he hadn't slept at all and luckily his uncle had figured out what was up and let him go home a day early.

Sydney sighe and curled up against him. It felt natural to be here in his arms. Like she'd done it planty of times before. She probably had. She fell asleep in his arms, the steady rhythm of him breathing keeping her asleep and nightmare-free.

Alec woke up slowly, watching Sydney sleep quietly. She looked so peaceful sleeping. He glanced over at the clock and nearly swore. It was five minutes to seven and he knew he'd have to leave fast but didn't want to wake Sydney up.

Sydney felt Alec stir and woke up, rubbing at her eyes. She looked at him sleepily. "You ok?" she asked, noticing that he looked a little anxious.

Alec nodded, kissing her forehead gently. "Good morning. Yeah, but I need to leave in five minutes. I'd rather not get caught by your mom." He said quietly, slowly slipping his arms from around her and sat up slowly, rubbing his hands over his face sleepily.
