Alec drove to her house slowly, feeling very wierd about the whole thing. First of all he didn't dress nice half the time so being all dressed up was a weird new thing for him. He sighed, running his hands through his hair as he pulled into Sydney's drive-way noticing her mom was already gone. He got out of his car and walked towards her front-door.

Sydney heard Alec's car outside and stood up, going to the front door. She opened it and saw him standing there on the front porch. "Well don't you look nice," she said, smiling. She stepped out of her house and closed the door, locking it behind her. She turned to face him and looked down at her dress. "Is this alright?" she asked shyly

"No I look and feel like a douche, but you on the other hand look beautiful. You better be careful today, people are going to want to steal you from me," Alec told her quietly, kissing her forehead. He was still slightly tired but was more nervous than anything. He didn't know if he would be able to stand the ceremony at all.

Sydney smiled to herself. "Thanks. Just don't let go of me. I haven't worn heels in forever," she said, looking down at her shoes. She grabbed hold of his hand and walked over to his car with him, crefully getting into the passenger seat. "So who's gonna be there?" she asked, knowing that this was going to be hard for him. She knew what it was going to be like. She had done this before.

"I won't let you fall. A lot of people. I don't know half of them but probably all of my mom's family. I never really paid attention to the whole meet and greet things. I usually just stuck with one of my cousin's but he's not here. His fiancee's sick." Alec said as he got into the car and backed out of her drive-way driving towards the church. They were about a half hour early and knew they'd have to socialize before the funeral started.

"Okay," Sydney replied. She looked out the window until they arrived at the church. She stepped out of the car and suddnely felt nervous. A lot of Alec's family was going to be here. What if they didn't like her? She patted down her dress nervously, looking down at her shoes.

Alec grabbed a jacket knowing she'd probably get cold in there as he walked around to the other side of the car and opened the door for Sydney. "They'll love you but probably kill me for skipping yesterday," Alec reasurred her. He knew they'd wanted to talk about guardians and what not but there was really no point when he'd be eighteen by the end of September.

Sydney smiled up at him and grabbed hold of his hand. She walked with him towards the door, looking down at her feet and biting her lip out of habit. She sure hoped someone she knew would be there, like Julie or Alec's band.

Alec walked inside, holding open the door for Sydney and followed her inside and froze for a second as everyone's eyes were on them until they continued conversation. He smirked holding eyes with his step-father for a minute before looking around. Jessie and Devon were in a corner talking with AJ. Ty and JJ were talking with Slater. "Slater's here," Alec whispered into Sydney's ear, squeezing her hand assuringly as he gently pulled her towards a group of people. He thought it was sick how people could stand around laughing at just a sad occasion.

Sydney tensed up when she Alec told her Slater was here. She knew that nothing was going to happen, but she could still remember the last time she had seen Slater, sitting on the floor of an old warehouse. She shook off the feeling and squeezed Alec's hand, smiling at him. She spotted Julie among the crowd, as well as Dean who she hadn't seen in forever. She looked up at Alec and waited for him to lead the way
