Sydney laughed. She looked over at Alec and smiled mischieviouly "She said something about you looking at me a certain way..." she said, still smiling.

He rolled his eyes. "Great, well I have yet to figure out what she means by that."

"I think I know." she murmured, a little louder than she meant to. When they pulled up to her house, she got out and waited on the porch steps for him.

Alec followed her, locking his car.

"Alec guess what!" Clay yelled from Riley's porch.

"You got a new bike, you told me at five am this morning!" He yelled back.

Sydney smiled and waved to Clay. He was the only one she hadn't met yet.

Clay waved back, laughing. "Sorry! Where's Jayden?"

"How am I supposed to know? Riley's at the movies, or she was a little while ago waiting for someone." Alec said. "No offense Clay, but who gets drunk in the midle of the day?" he asked.

"Me," Clay said, rolling his eyes. "Oooh a butterfly," he said stumbling off the porch swiping at mid air. Alec groaned.

Sydney laughed at Clay. "C'mon" she said to Alec, leading him inside. "Mom?" she called when she walked through the door

"I'm in here" her mom called back from the kitchen

"Hey Mom" Sydney said, walking into the kitchen. She went over to the fridge and grabbed an apple "Do you want anything Alec?" she asked politely

"Happy Birthday Syd. Hi Alec, how are you?" sydney's mom said
