Bree sat alone, the table farthest away from the table Ethan sat at. She stared blankly at the wall, wishing it was all just a dream. She knew it wasn't, but she had to try to convince her self. Right? She sighed and closed her eyes and laid her head on her arm. She didn't want to be popular, she didn't want to be pretty. She would give up everything for Lab, but if she did, would he still like her? Was he just as shallow as the rest, only liking her because of her looks and rank? No. Not Lab, never.

Ethan looked back at her, his eyebrows raised. A whistle blew by his ear, and he cracked a half-smile. "Hey sweetheart. You coming to sit with the big boys?" A teasing look struck his eyes, followed by a bit of rebelion.
