Len looked at Taylor and nodded. He looked at Salmon, "My daddy in jail and my mama died a week ago." he said sadly.

Salmon gasped. "That's awful! My.... my daddy left. He was never heard from after I was born, and nobody knows where he is, or if he is alive, so I know how you feel", she said to him,sympathy in her eyes.

Taylor nodded, looking at Len. She looked at the ground and sighed, remembering her parents.

Salmon turned her gaze at Taylor. " Are you alright? You look really sad", she said softly.

Taylor looked at Salmon and nodded, forcing a smile.

Len hugged Salmon and smiled.

For the first time in years, Salmon smiled back as she felt a strange feeling about Len. " I.....I'm glad that I have all of you to be my friends. I don't have any other brothers or sisters to look after me", she said, kind of sad. She began crying again. " I don't think anyone loves me.....ever", Salmon cried.

Len patted her back like his mom used to do when he cried.

Salmon cried softly, and leaned on Len's side. "I'm just glad to have everyone here with me", she said. " All I ever wanted was to be loved. My mommy was too..... excuse me, crazy-in-the-head, to know what love was when she had me. No one will ever love me, probably, anyways....."
