Emily's phone beeped. She picked it up; a text from Emma. She opened up her phone.

Hey Em. Ummm...well...Riley kinda, well...died. I'm sorry. His last words were:

Tell Emily I'm sorry and that I love her.

I'm so sorry.

Emily quietly packed up all her stuff. "I'm going home." she half saidt o herself. A single tear ran down her face. "Bye, Bernie."
She knocked on the bathroom door. "Hailey, I need to ask you something..." she said with her bags at her feet.

(No, I am not quitting, but I want to spice it up a bit >.<)

Hailey poked her head out of the doorway of the bathroom. "What?! No! Don't leave!"

"Hailey, you don't understand..." Emily got choked up and showed Hailey the text. "He died. I need to honor him. Tell Berney I'll miss him, will you?"

Hailey got a sad expression and walked up to her. "His life ended, and that's terrible, but your life is just beginning!" Hailey murmured.

"You don't understand...we grew up together, he wanted to be together, our last words together was an argument! He died because of me, I know it, because I went here, miles away. I'm torn, Hailey. I love Bernie, but Riley was my best friend and just died.I don't know what to do." a single tear went down Emily's cheek, but she wiped it away fast.

Not waiting for a response, Emily grabbed her suitcases and walked to the elevators. She pushed the buttom that went to the lobby and waited patiently. Beep. Her phone went off. It was Emma.

"You didn't reply, are you alright?"

"Ya, I'm coming home."

"Why?"

"I need to see RIley one last time."

"I don't think you want to."

"Why not?"

"He wanted you to stay there and live out your dream."

"I'm coming home."

"Please don't."

Emily didn't reply. She didn't care; she was going home. She just hoped she would be able to come back here and see Berney one last time. She knew it was impossible. The elevator doors opened and she walked through the lobby and through the doors. This was it; she wasn't going to see her new friends, or Berney, anytime soon. She called for a taxi, waiting. Though secretly, she was hoping someone would stop her first.

Bernard was in disbelife, one minute Emily had asked him out for pizza and now she was gone. He burst out of the hotel room, and pushed the button to the elevator, which he never touched on normal occasionas. Itwas taking to long, Bernard burst through the door to the stairwell. He reached the first floor in under a munite. He runs franticaly," Emily! Emily!" He skidded to a stop, he saw her, just standing there waiting for her taxi. He wanted to run, and beg her no to go, he just couldn't. Her bestfriend had just died, and she thought it was her fault. Bernard slumpped into a wodde bench, he barried his face in his hands, not knowing what to do now. A single tear ran down his cheek, partially because the olny girl he had ever loved was leaving and partialy because he remberd his mother's tragic end.

Emily heard someone calling her name,and it sounded like Bernie. She dropped her bags and ran. She saw him on a wooden bench, with his head in his hands. She ran to the bench and sat by him. She slowly held one hand, telling him she was there.

Bernard looks up at her, he whiped a tear from his cheeck. " I know it hurts, and you'd do anything to get him back. But trust me it's not worth wrecking your life, I belive that your brother and Riley would want you to be happy. It's nearly imposible, I know, I've had it happen to me too. Let me tell you something, I nearly screwd up my entire life, and I don't think my mother would have been proud of me, or even my little sister. I would beg you to stay, but I don't want to hold you back for my own selfish reasons. Do what you must, but please don't forget about what they would want you to do. Goodbye Emily, I-i L .... love you.'' He stood up and slowly walked towards the freshly arrived taxi, opening the door for Emily. He had no idea why he was doing this, he just wanted to drop to his knees and beg fo her to stay.
