He didn't tense, he didn't winse, his face didn't even reveal anything. He stayed in his relaxed position, not for shock, but for the sake of thinking how to place his words right. After a couple of minutes, he stood up, full 6'4" height, but he held out open arms to Cass. His face had softened, he had figured words wouldn't work right now, but for one of the few times in his life his eyes were wettened with held back tears, his mouth was creased in a crooked concerned straight line.

Zack looked at her, then away, "it's nothing, family stuff." He said shrugging, he reall didn. Like talking about his family, it was hard on him ever since his brother died in the war he has been so scared he would lose his dad too. He tightened his hold on the reins, shaking away the thoughts.
