herro der mes amis, i am believe. proud canadian, ottb loving, colt breaking, nfr dreaming. pictured on the left is my racetrack reject, landofmakebelieve, aka molly, moo, shmoo, whatever name comes to mind x] molly is a 10 year old canadian bred thoroughbred mare, and standing at about 16.2hh, we look a little wonky when we chase cans, but la dee da that's alright. molly and i tried several disciplines. i tried desperately to get her to catch on to dressage, but unfortunately, she still has the race bred mind and is all go. however, together we found a discipline which we could both enjoy; western gaming. this summer we started travelling to barrel races locally. our current record on a standard size pattern is 17.314 and we are improving with every run. and to all the low budget barrel racers out there such as myself, a word of advise; chin up darling. you may not have a million dollar mount under your butt, but you and your crossbred, rejected, hard headed, rescue baby can do it. you know why? cause those girls sitting in their custom circle y's, upon shiny, top of the line mounts are full of themselves. they think there's no way they can lose. they get cocky. stay humble, believe in yourself, in your horse, and most importantly ride your little heart out.

Davina understood that dressage could be demanding but she loved it, her gelding was very dainty and she adored him and his skills. Her dark eyes gazed over the girl's mount, a muscled and tall horse of great size. She shrugged though, as power wasn't everything and the young girl still had plenty of room to grow and the horse seemed fairly push-button and obedient, which was good but she always loved a challenge. "I see," she finally said, getting slightly less annoyed with the young girl.

Thea realized she was warming up to Davina. Warming up to anyone was rare, and she sure didn't like it! This was the one reason she didn't have any friends back at home.
"OK," Thea said, slowly. Then, she snapped rudely, "I gotta go. Buckwheat's waiting."

Davina rolled her eyes at the girls sudden mood and turned without a farewell, she shrugged off her discontent and began walking back to the barn, she quickly caught and tacked her stunning black gelding and mounted with ease. She buckled her helmet and walked to the ring next to Thea and quickly began her warmup. The gelding moved with grace at an extended trot, his white socks gleaming against the sand and the contrast of his shiney black coat. Davina easily pushed him into a collected canter, watching him as he picked up the right lead.

Thea warmed up Buckwheat again, leading him around the enclosure. After the 3rd loop, she mounted. “Run like the wind for me, Bucky.”
She pushed Buck from standstill straight to gallop.
Buck tried his best.
“Some day, Buck, you and I are gonna go to a small race someplace.”
After 3 loops, she put Buck back into the trot.
