Look, I'm not sure if this belongs here. But, I have been using Photobucket images, stealing not intended. Recently, nearly every person on the Roleplay "Call Of The WIld" 's images off photobucket, tinypic, etc have been deleted for copyright reasons. I do understand that the admins/mods/roleplay mods always have an excellent reason, but may I just ask, did someone request our pictures to be bought down? I mean, this has Never happened before, only now. ^-^ Just wanted to say, none of us meant any harm when we used these images. Thanks for your time,

do you mean the posts or the images themselves have been deleted off photobucket, etc?

then that means you aren't using free to use stock photos, mods are really working on stopping people from using just any image off google that isn't free to use
if you don't have permission to use the picture, it's considered are theft

If you want to use images that are not yours, you can use a free stock photo site, there are lots of them

What about pictures from Wikepedia for characters like Twilight Sparkle? Is that OK, since it's a data base? Just chiming in and wondering.

I know all this. I will not use images off Photobucket etc. anymore, and Mione, you can use those pictures, but only for a MLP roleplay, that includes that character.

Just giving an example, not anything specific. Like I was guessing you could use that for a referance. Thanks for the answer.

if you don't own the rights to an image, and it isn't specifically stated by the original artist that it is free for anyone or for you to use, then you shouldn't be using their artwork. Anyone can upload anything to photobucket, it doesn't mean the original artist ever authorized it's redistribution

our image posting rules state:

Images which are not allowed on Chicken Smoothie:
....
Images which were copied, edited, or stolen from another artist. (for more details, keep reading the art rules)

...
Creating a gallery of other peoples' art without their permission or knowledge is not acceptable.

I see, Tess. I will not use Photobucket etc. images any more, so may you/other mods lock this topic? Greatly appreciated :3
