Pound Glitch! It was totally accidental!

Not sure if this should go here or in the adoptables section, but here's what happened:
I was at the pound when it opened and I clicked on "adopt" but my computer seemed to freeze up. I (after shrieking at my computer) quickly got in to the pound in another window and clicked on another pup figuring that it wouldn't let me get it if I really had adopted the first dog like I was trying to do. Then when I got into my pets, it turned out I had managed to adopt both of them. I don't want to be unfair or break the rules. Should I give one back? Is there a way to do that?

You got the one I was trying to click on...weirdly enough, when I clicked on it, I got a different pet :S
