Index Not truely showing who is online *added screen shots

When i go to the index on the forum page, even after i hard refresh, and click on some usernames, now just today a few of those people were not online. I would refresh again and their username would still be in the index even though they aren't online.

I'm not sure if the index is showing people who are online but are keeping their status offline or if its just showing people who are offline.

There also could be a problem when people log in that its not showing that they are logged in but i don't think thats it.

I'm not sure but it could also be a problem with my system, If you are experiencing the same problem as me or if you know the solution please tell me

To my knowledge, It only shows who was online in 5 min sets, not an instant snapshot. So if someone logs off right before the 'snapshot' they will be shown as online until the next one 5 mins later.

thank you, I wasn't aware of that ^^ i will do a little test by finding someone in the index who is shown but are offline and see if there name remains after 5 minutes.

Firestar is right, it is even written above the list of the people who are online.

Who is online

In total there are 769 users online :: 603 registered, 54 hidden and 112 guests (based on users active over the past 5 minutes)
Most users ever online was 2729 on Wed Jul 20, 2011 8:05 pm

I'm having this problem too. I have been active for well over five minutes, my online status isn't hidden, but I'm not showing up on the online list. Can you just not see your own name on the list, or is it a glitch/problem?

I'm sorry about that, I didn't notice. But i conducted an experiment to see if it refreshing every five minutes. I also took screen shots. My test subject was <3Fenris<3 so i'm sorry that i used your account for an experiment without your permission.

All i did was refresh the forum and refreshed <3fenris<3's page then took a screen shot
If you would like to try it out also to see if it's just me, I would appreciate it.
It also says that the users last activity was at 12:44

I'm having this issue too. I've been online for longer than 15 minutes, but I'm not on the list. =(
