About the Oekaki?

Postby Ineedatribal » Sat Aug 06, 2011 4:02 am

I need to download Java to be able to draw on the Oekaki, and I was wondering if Oekaki users could answer this simple question.

Will Java cause any harm to my computer? Infections, or anything?

I don't want to make a mistake of possibly crashing my computer. ;)

Any help appreciated.

Java won't harm your computer, CS would never use something that does that. If you are worried, get it from an official website for it.....and stuff.

java is 100% safe to download
My shop is closed for good, I have no use for this site or my art anymore. I'm not going to go into details about why I've been inactive and why I am quitting, but in short the word 'depression' has been thrown around a lot. I would go into more detail, but for the sake of the younger members of the site I can't. If you really want to know you can PM me by the end of the day.

Most of my linearts are being transferred over to editable oekaki for the use of anyone who so shall pleases to color in their characters.
It was fun while it lasted, but sadly my time here on CS is done.

As others are saying, Java is usually a safe program, but everything has its risks. If you are going to download it, download it from an official site and make sure your computer recognizes it as reliable [if you have some sort of protection service like Norton]. This way, you can minimize dangerous malware. If you live with your parents/are young/etc, it'd be smart to get permission from them and to have them by your side while you download it if you are worried.

To be honest, the only thing I dislike about Java is there's something to update a lot [like a revamped service], but you don't have to [or so I don't, that is]. c:

    Hope this helped^^.

Do any of you guys know if you post on adoptables and you are a colorist, then you color one. Save it. Post it. Then where do they go? I can't find them anymore except on the drawing page where I drew them.

This is not the thread to ask questions.

Java is an Oracle Corporation product. Oracle is a software company which employs over 100,000 people worldwide and took in 35.6 billion dollars in revenue this year (fully half what Microsoft took in). If anybody makes a safe product, it's them! Their official download site is http://www.java.com/
