Posting anonymously might be genuinely useful some of the time (e.g. when asking for advice), but like the 'spoiler tag' feature I see on other sites, I think it would become overused until practically every post was 'anonymous'. I think it ruins the point of having individual accounts if no-one can tell who you are, or can't tell anything about your personality since all your interesting posts become hidden.
