Joplin, MO Tornados

Postby Ginneh » Tue May 24, 2011 6:19 am

I don't know if it's possible or not but would there be a way to maybe make a pet or item set for the store that people can buy and the money go to the Red Cross (or someplace similar) in Joplin, MO to help with the tornado victims and all the destruction?

If you don't know what happened, a tornado came through the midwest last night around 6 and wiped out 30% of southern Joplin, Missouri. Homes and businesses are totally gone--just leveled. Families are still out of contact with their loved ones because phone lines are out and many don't have power. Joplin is under a boil order and stores are running short on bottled water. There are many shelters open around town but one of two hospitals has been destroyed and medical care is on a priority basis--the local hospitals are full with all those who need medical care to stay alive. There are so many without homes, with nothing left but the torn clothes on their back, still searching for loved ones.

I don't know if we can actually use my idea or not but I thought it would be a great way to help for those who aren't close enough to offer their time.

Paypal takes a cut out of how much CS actually gets whenever someone purchases C$, so it would really be more efficient to donate money directly to the Red Cross.

Also, if there was a pet made for this disaster, then people would expect pets for every other disaster.
