On the May outcome thread, they add items to the bottom of their pets..is there a reason for this? Thanks.

The reason is that the one who makes the growth charts showing all the outcomes want to get images without name tags on them. By adding an item under the pet the name tag moves down a bit so that it's possible to crop out the image of the pet without having part of the paws getting hidden under the name bar.
