Rarity Unknowns

I'm new here and I have a few questions. Hope it's okay to post here- I didn't see a place for questions. If not, would a mod please move this post?

How long does it take until it's known?

Does it ever change from uncommon to rare? For instance if less of the pet were in circulation?

The rarities are typically updated at the end of each month. Nick does it himself by hitting a button, so they do not change on their own. When he updates, all of the pets with "Unknown" gain rarities, and other pets may increase in rarity if they meet the requirements.
