What just happened to my pups...?

I used to have some caterpillar middle-stage pups, and they disappeared! I looked through my trades, and I have not given them out, and my groups do not contain them. What happened here?

No, that's not them... they are black with red cherry-like things on their sides.

They 'coccooned' so now they are either green or red. ^^
