Changing username

I wanted to change my username into Labirynth. I used the member search to see if it's not already in use. No person was found with such username. But when I submitted the change it told me that it's already in use. I had to choose a French word.
What is happening?

I did. I use copy-paste and I have auto-fill in my browser O_o
But I'll check once again.

Maybe it's a newly deleted account or there's a hold on names or something. Honestly, I don't know much about the username changing system.

It wouldn't let me either, so I searched the database directly. Turns out there was a user that never activated their account with that username, but they must have used some non-English characters in the name and it didn't show up in the searches. I've removed that account now and renamed you.
