I know you get this a lot but... My thing says one new message... And I have look through all my messages and deleted all but the one that is still a running conversation... sorry for bugging you

This. It should be at the top of your inbox as a link.

If you go to your Inbox, or the Private Messages tab, then click on the Rules, folders & settings on the left hand side, you'll be able to find a folder option that says "If folder is full: Delete oldest messages" which will delete your oldest message so your new ones can come in without being put on hold. I used to use that a lot.
