Hmm, if it becomes mandatory, I will have to confirm it every day (somehow my IP changes each day and I delete cookies when I close my browser), so that will be annoying for me.
But security for everyone is more important I'd say, so I guess I'll just have to deal with it.

Did this feature break first try for anyone else? I put in my 2FA email, copied and pasted the code and it told me it was wrong. After I put it in again, it still said it was wrong and to try again in 15 minutes.

As someone who was effected by someone hijacking a different person's account and trading me this makes me super hopeful that it will not be happening ever again. This is good! Thank-you Nick for hearing the cries of all the people who owned the accounts that got hijacked and people who were traded by those accounts and lost stuff. I had been super worried about things happening again and this eased that worry a lot.

Yessss thank you so much! I ask you don't make it mandatory though - as much as I appreciate it being on by default it'll be nice to have the ability to turn it off. I use VPN and private browsing a lot throughout the day and logging to my gmail accounts is enough of a hassle that it caused me to seek a different e-mail service.

Good idea but what about those who no longer have access to their original email addresses? Those who forget to update account information?

If you're trying to log in on a new device whilst you're still able to log in on a device that is already authorised, then you'll be able to change your email address on your account settings page.

If you get locked out of your account completely and don't have access to the connected email address, staff can help you recover your account. You would need to go to the help page and contact us by sending a help ticket. You can do this even if you're not logged into an account.
