ChibiPaint forums/standalone oekaki?

Postby Harpalyce » Fri Mar 18, 2011 10:25 am

Hey there -

Sadly I don't know PHP so this is a little beyond me to figure out on my own.

My best friend and I would really like a space for us to do some art RP, and I love the ChibiPaint oekaki applet. Unfortunately:
1. I don't have a server on which to set up an oekaki/forum from scratch.
2. I'm not that good at PHP so I don't think I can integrate ChibiPaint with a forum on my own.

So -

1. Is there a free forum service that allows you to integrate your own scripts (e.g., that a ChibiPaint oekaki could be tacked onto)?
2. Would there be someone out there I would be able to bribe into doing the basic one-time setup? Both of us are artists and can compensate with commissions. :)

No, as they don't let you edit the PHP code (everybody on the free forum services shares the same code and servers). You need a free PHP webhost which you could then install a forum into. Even if there was, there is no guide for integrating ChibiPaint with any forums, so you need to be an advanced PHP programmer to do it.

The easiest option that I'm aware of is:

Thank you so much for your help, Nick!! :) I realize it's a bit of a big task. I'll ask around among my friends and see if one of the programmers knows enough PHP to integrate it.
