Oekaki question... ?!?

I feel really silly, asking a question like this, but here goes nothing:
When I'm browsing the Oekaki forums, I sometimes see paintings that have tapering lines. I don't really know how to explain this... Whenever I try to draw something, the lines all end in blunt, rounded points, and I don't know how to make them pretty and thinning. If you know what I'm talking about and can help me, please do, because I'm at a loss for which tool or technique to use. Thanks!

There are two ways to do this:
1) Erase part of the line to give off a tapering effect.
2) If you're using a tablet, you can install something called jtablet that allows you to use pen pressure even in the oekaki, so that you can taper lines by just reducing the pressure.
