Adopted a pet from the pound and it didn't show up

Hi I'm not sure what's going on but I adopted a pet from the pound and it didn't show up that I had gotten it. When I go back to the pound page the message doesn't show up that I've collected one either but the pound doesn't pop up also?

You can check in your recent trades if you received a pet from the pound or not, anytime you get a pet not just from other players, but from the pound or in an event, there will be a trade with a record of that. If you don't have a trade than what likely happened was someone else managed to select that pet before you and they got it instead. The pound also tends to close very quickly nowadays so depending on how many pets were left or how long it took for you to realize you didn't receive the pet and check the pound again, it may have simply run out of pets and closed.
