Uh,how do you create a transparent backround for a drawing on GIMP?

It really depends on the program you're using. What are you using? GIMP/Paint/Photoshop?

No need to bump. This is a slow moving forum.

First, make sure there is no background layer. If there is one, either delete it or hide it. Now you should see nothing but light and dark gray checkers. Then, on a new layer (or new layers, depending on what you're making), draw what you want. When you're done, save the image as .png (or .gif, although I wouldn't suggest it). Everything that was checkered will now be transparent.

but I am not drawing on GIMP.I want to upload and save a drawing I drawed on oekakai to GIMP,and I want to now how to make it have a transparent backround.

Oh. On Oekaki the process is similar too. Delete the background layer and then draw the picture minus a background. I believe you can then save the image and open it with GIMP.

If you've drawn it on the oekaki, there's no need to make it transparent with GIMP. Just open it on oekaki and make sure everything you want to be transparent is checkered (hopefully you didn't draw directly on the white background layer because if you didn't, hiding it should fix everything). Once you've done that, save it and go to your post. Copy the image address, then change "auto" to "png" in the URL. When you post this fixed URL, you'll see that the picture is transparent.

Of course. :3 I'm not sure which part you're having trouble with, so I'll just go over all of it in more detail.

First, open your oekaki. You'll see something like this:

Now, hide the background layer by clicking the circle next to it. Doing so will cause the image to be transparent. You'll know for sure that the image is transparent because it will have a checkered pattern in the background:

Save your oekaki and go to its topic. Right click it, go to properties, and copy the image address.
The URL will look something like this:

Change auto to png:


Now, if you post the image somewhere using this URL, you'll have a transparent image.
