is there an updated items guide anywhere?

not like values, just items and their names and pictures. i get a lot of trades for items sometimes or see ones i like, but i have no idea what they're from so it's hard to add them to my wl.

sorry if i wasn't clear, i'm not asking for the archive, i know how to look at the archive. i'm asking for a guide where i can search the items name and find when it's from.

Go to the Archives and check the Items tab. You'll get a list of items from each year on CS

For instance, from 2008: archive/2008/Christmas/Items/

i understand that, that's not exactly what i'm asking for here. i'm asking if there's a way to search an item by name and find when it's from. there are many pet guides where you can find the name of a dog but there's no item ones.

While this isn't a guide, there is a community driven resource for helping users identify items - based on description, item name, etc.
Hopefully this may be of some use! ^^

I've made an items list spreadsheet with Google sheets through 2022.
It's in my signature. Save a copy for yourself to edit.

Sorted by item name, with the year and month it's from.
For some items with the same name, I added additional information (like the color).

There is a column to use as a check list.

I tried to use a VBA to add images, or add links to the item, but it was too massive with over 12,600 items.
