Pet Species Question

New player here who is trying to learn the site, and it’s possible I might’ve missed the answer to my question. I’ve traded for several species that aren’t under the “adopt” section, such as lions. Do these species cycle back into the adopt section of the site, or am I missing how you adopt them yourself? And if they cycle back, is there any way to know when species might come back, or is it all just random?

Hello! Species like lions tend to come out a lot more rarely than others. I'm not certain if lions are ever in the adopts section (if someone else can confirm or deny this, feel free to correct me). Instead, I often see lions and other species released on certain events. For instance, we had lions in both the Christmas and Halloween events in 2022!

There really is no way to tell what will be released when it comes to those kinds of pets, you just kind of have to get them as they come, or see if anybody would be willing to trade you some!

Lions are usually event pets but can rarely pop up in litters of cats!

Subversion: a cat appeared in a litter of lions in September 2012

There have been only two lion litter monthly adopts, one in March 2014 and one in August 2022, although March 2014 was a true litter as the lions grew from cubs whereas the 2022 one was for World Lion Day and everything was either already grown or PPS.
