Hi there! I know Thanksgiving has already passed and we didn't get pets but I found this on an old post and I believe it is helpful.

There have only been pets for Thanksgiving three years before (2010, 2014, 2015), it's not a normal yearly thing. All of the events/holidays that we regularly get pets for are more widely celebrated, global holidays. Thanksgiving is not celebrated in most other countries, or is on different days and different months. Thanksgiving on the fourth Thursday of November is only a holiday in the United States.
