Geting a word typed befor t pop up when typed again in serch

Late last December my computer crashed and I had to get a new hard drive.
Mostly I've got every thing sorted but before then when the first letter of a word was typed in the search or renaming box etc that Word wold pop up in the box if it had been typed before. How do I make it work again is it a setting on CS or my computer?
I have a VAIO Computer and Windows 7( Installed by a computer software guru to replace the Vista it originally came with) I use FireFox for the Internet.
Please can some one help me to get it to work again!

I'm not 100% sure at what you're talking about, but computers have their own memories, and things like computer crashes (or even clearing the memory yourself) can erase its memory. If you type the name in the box now and press submit, it will start remembering it again. There isn't any way to retrieve old memory banks.

It's definitely not on CS.
If I remember correctly, it's to do with your browser, and if you fiddle around with the settings, you'll find it.
It's called AutoFill, or something like that on Firefox, though I'm not sure about other browsers.
